That would most likely be one of the strategies any alien race would attempt to make, only if they are interested in enslaving us or feed from us lol. Maybe they could need us to procreate and create a different species, just like in Alien.

But what's for sure is if they just wanted our planet and resources, they would have targeted more than just the military.
