Just then, Fisky rang the ships bell twelve times to mark the stroke of midnight and the beginning of a new year!
“All hail 1719!" The Captain’s voice boomed as they all raised their mugs in salute!

{On-board the Grand Bank…]
Captain Callum carefully navigated the reef towards Badjanani when a crewman up on the middle mast yelled out…
“Ship Sir! About fifteen miles due west, south-west!” He yelled down to the deck.
“Ship?! What in bloody hell! Dax, hand me my scope!” Callum yelled as he turned towards the west.
Carefully scanning the western horizon he soon spotted the intruder…
“A bloody Scottish frigate!” He cursed as he steadied his scope, “Slane! That dogging bastard! How I hell did he know where we were headed!!”
“Are you sure it’s the Silverton?” First Mate Dax asked with concern.
“Sure as the day is bright! There’s no other like her! Fock!”
Boy Tipper listened to the scene unfold as he pulled on the front boom line and tied it secure. “The Silverton!” He thought with glee, “Thank Gawd!”
Next to him stood Commander Galligan, cupping his hand over his eyes to shield the sun’s rays…
“A thirty-six gun frigate." He said matter of factly.
“But Sairrr, don't ye recognize 'er?!" Tipper said quietly as he pulled on the second jib line.
“No...Ahh don't believe Ahh do..."
Tipper’s heart sank! “What had happened to him?!” He thought, “He doesn’t e'en know his own ship when he sees it!”
The thoughts were troubling enough and Tipper knew he had to be careful about speaking to Galligan in front of Callum or Dax…
“Galligan boy! Trim up the main sails and prepare to enter that narrow opening for the bay!” Callum ordered.
Tipper watched as Galligan skillfully trimmed the sails and prepared the big schooner for a quick entry into the Bay of Badjanani. There was no more skilled seaman than Galligan and Tipper marveled at his knowledge. At least his seafaring talent had not been forgotten, Tipper pondered.
“What are we doing?!” Dax asked urgently as Callum pulled hard on the ship’s wheel.
“We need to make that bay and come about on the inland side before Slane spots us!”

[On board the Silverton…]
The crew was foggy-headed in the morning after a grand night of celebration and good cheer, but there was not a man on-board that didn’t hear the booming voice of Seaman- Able Seaman Tuna as he yelled out an alert…
“Yo! Land ho!"
“Wussatt?! Comoros?!” The Captain yelled back.
“Aye Sairrr! An' more than 'att! Th' Grand Bank Sairrr!"
“Th' Grand Bank! Fine as silver snails! What's his headin' man?!"
“North-east Sairr! Looks like he's headin' fur a cove!" Tuna yelled back.
“Haw! Haw! Bad move Callum! Ahh've got yer slimy arse now!" the Captain said to himself, “Cockpit Mate- Midshipman’s Mate Fisky! Gives me a full squaure of sail!"
“Aye, aye Sairrr!”
Seaman- Ordinary Seamen Olfeblog and Knowledgement raced to the forecastle to tighten the jib lines as Fisky yelled out more commands to the main deck crew.
The big ship heaved to starboard as the wind filled all her sails and carried her swiftly towards the western shores of Comoros!
