⛵ ⛵ ⛵ ⛵ . . .Ship's Log: 04 of Januar, 1719
[Last time...]
Galligan shook off his hold as he primed his musket and looked away. His mind was obviously in a turmoil. It was then that one of the other crewman sounded off…
“Sir! A canoe is shovin’ off from the south shore!”
“One hundred yards men! And not a focking inch closer!” Callum’s voice boomed from the main deck.

[In the Bay of Badjanani…]
The loan scout quickly paddled his canoe away from the shore of Badjanani as the crowd of natives grew in size.
“One hundred yards men! And not a focking inch closer!” Captain Callum yelled again as all of the crew stood with their muskets shouldered.
Boy Tipper watched nervously as Commander Galligan raised his weapon to his shoulder. The lone canoer silently skimmed across the aquamarine waters of the bay, heading directly towards the Grand Bank schooner.
“Two hundred yards men!” Callum yelled as he stood with his arms crossed on the bridge, “A hundred and fifty!”
Tipper’s heart pounded like a killer whale as he watched the disaster unfold…
“One hundred yards! Fire! Fire! Fire!” Callum yelled.
All of the crewman fired their weapons and the ill-fated messenger in the canoe was catapulted backwards, his limp body landing a good eight feet behind his craft! Smoke poured out of all of the musket barrels…except one. Galligan’s musket was still cocked and unfired.
Tipper’s eyes teared up as he saw what had happened. They were tears of gloom but also of pride as he realized that somewhere deep in Galligan’s mind, a scrap of memory must remain.
An audible moan of shock was heard from the shore as the villagers stood in horror of what had just happened…
[On the Silverton…]
The thundering booms of musket-fire rang out across the sea!
“What in bloody hell! 'Att minkey-head'd baboon!" The Captain’s voice rang out as he jogged down the steps of the bridge and onto the main deck to get a better view of the shore.
The schooner could not be seen as it was well inside the bay of Badjanani.
“Keptin, what da ye make of 'att?!" Cockpit Mate- Midshipman’s Mate Fisky asked with concern written all over his face.
“Too many shots ta kill one Scotsman an' a loon! They're firin' on th' villagers! Thes is not good mucker!" He said as he gritted his teeth, “Have a loon bring me up Groober!"
“Aye Sairrr!” Fisky replied as he turned towards the forecastle, “Boy Evsup, come haur now!"
Evsup quickly left the group and ran down the forecastle deck stairs…
“Aye Sairrr?!”
“Git below an' bring up th' spyug!"
“Aye Sairrr!”
In a moment Evsup was back on deck holding the big bird “Groober”. The Captain came over and immediately gave him an order…
“Script me a message Loon!" He barked as Evsup quickly pulled a pencil stub out of his pocket and a scrap of paper.
“Ready Sairrr…”
“Dears Chief Rahil,
Thes is yer old friend Keptin Joshua Slane of th' good ship Silverton. Th' vessel in yer cove is manned by a pirate an' a rogue! Have yer fowk take shelter an' do not attempt ta wage war against it! Ahh’m sendin' a party of men ashore ta assist ye!"
Evsup quickly finished the note and tied it around the neck of Groober.
“Off wi' heem now an' Gawd's speed!" The Captain yelled.
The big bird flew out over the starboard rail and soon was no more than a speck, speeding quickly over the glistening waters…
