Ah man. Dudes like this all over Japan. And you never know if they are just lonely old dudes or pedos, or both.

The first time it happened to us some guy was hovering around us at a festival, and then just started snapping pics of Isaiah without asking.

The friend I was with said it was “no big deal” because “this is Japan,” but I am not cool with that shit either. My wife didn’t seem too bothered, either, but agreed it was weird.

I wonder if it is the collectivist/group culture thing gone haywire? Most folks ask permission and have some basic social skills but then there’s these others....

As a final example of lack of boundaries, some lady and her daughter walked up our driveway the other day, while we were outside, saying nothing to us, to play with the pinwheel in our garden.

We said “hello,” and didn’t get a response. Nope. Just ignore these fools and walk right up to their house in front of them.

My lady also turned Godzilla at some point (mad props to your wife, by the way!) and said “Hey, if you’re going to come into our yard and play with our stuff please at least say ‘hi’ to us and ask.”

The lady said something like “We always come into your yard” and left.

Weird shit, my man.

What’s funny is that creepy old guy in your picture has the same fucking smile as the ones here.

Babies are cute, but goddamn. If you’re collecting photos of other people’s children.... You at the very least need some lessons in social boundaries. Don’t wanna imagine the worse. Either way man, it’s his BS. Not yours. And you know how to call that shit out now.

Yes, there are weirdos everywhere. Coming from someone who's been accosted (and fought back) in several continents. It's good to standup to people and put them in their place, bc most people shy away and don't want to make a scene. I live for the scenes! Several times I fell asleep on a train/bus in Toronto, and some weirdo older man was touching me.... Sickos everywhere. Stay strapped always.

I completely understand your thoughts. I was thinking if I would have refused the offer at the beginning, not sure actually. But maybe it would be better as to teach our kids to not take anything from people they don’t know.

We have this weird woman walking here dog around and if we are in front of the house or the door is open she comes close to stare inside to check out where my daughter is. Would rather like to just chase here away some blocks

people will be people no matter what they look like or where they are from . The creeps always try and take advantage of our good nature . No harm was done which is nice . I spent a year there in 98-99 man has that place change .

Camp Casey is a U.S. military base in Dongducheon (also sometimes spelled Tongduchŏn or TDC), South Korea, 40 miles (64 km) north of Seoul, South Korea. Camp Casey was named in 1952 after Major Hugh Boyd Casey, who was killed in a plane crash near the camp site during the Korean War. Camp Casey is one of several U.S. Army bases in South Korea near the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Camp Casey, Camp Hovey, and neighboring Camp Castle and Camp Mobile hold the main armor,7th Division of a bridging engineer company as well, and mechanized infantry elements of the 2nd Infantry Division (United States) in South Korea. Camp Castle has been largely abandoned, with only a warehouse remaining. Camp Mobile was severely damaged during a flood in July 2011, and has been abandoned except for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) company. Camp Casey spans 3,500 acres (14 km2) and is occupied by 6,300 military personnel and 2,500 civilians. There are plans for the relocation of most of the 2nd Infantry Division to Camp Humphreys which are underway with the latest estimate for completion being 2019. As of 2017, there are plans for the Field Artillery Brigade to remain at Camp Casey, with closure of adjacent Camp Hovey.
Camp Casey was home to several of the main combat units of the Second Infantry Division. Among them were the Second Battalion of the 9th Infantry Regiment. the First Battalion of the 72nd Armored Regiment (Crusaders), and the 210th Field Artillery Brigade. The 70th Brigade Support Battalion is currently located on Camp Casey, providing support to the line battalions of the brigade as well as depot and medical support to everyone stationed in the Camp Casey area. Alternating Brigades of the 1st Cavalry Division (United States) are scheduled to be at Camp Casey on 9-month rotations until facilities are ready at Camp Humphreys.
