Theres a story that just came out about female inmate named Linda Cartel who is British, has been on death row in Texas since 2002. Where a judge has just declared that she should not get a new trial, and its now going to appeals. Im going to put the link in here to the full story. For you to judge for yourself , as she does claim shes innocent in orchestrating the kidnap and murder of her neighbor in Houston Joana Rodriguez, by hireing 3 guys to kill her and take her newborn baby, (who survived) as Linda Cartel was desperate for a baby after 3 misscariges, they found the bound and asphyxiated in the trunk of a car the previous year. Now i happen to watch alot of ID investigation shows, and with todays technology and DNA testing more people are being set free after spending most of their life behind bars for something they didnt do! Not to mention all the botched executions and difficulties sourceing lethal enjection drugs that have paralized the process in many states. I myself do not believe in the death penalty, we do not have it here in Canada. But Texas carries out the penalty more then any other state. The figures they give is that 15 people this year alone have been executed 6 in Texas which is also the only place that still has executions scheduled for the remainder of this year.
There has been more then 1,000 people executed since 1976, and theres just no way to tell how many of those people were innocent. I mean sure these serial mass murderers and rapists, the killings of innocent children where the person is caught in the act, and they first dont kill themselves as they usually do, maybe then ? But i would rather see those types suffer myself ,its too easy to kill them!
I mean I think its in Africa where if you rape someone , they put you in a hut, nail your hand to the table, put an axe on that table then they light the hut on fire! You have a choice to eigther chop off your arm with the axe, or burn to death! Thats it! I think they do the same for stealing! Chop off your own hand that you stole with!
Anyways thats my beliefs, im really interested to hear what the majority here on steemit believe, or your opinions on Capital punishment! Please read the story and let my know, THANKS!

Im conflicted. Plenty of scenarios where I would prefer to inflict a lifetime of torture on a person because he/she has wronged me in some way that leaves me grieved beyond the norm. However there is a strong case for a disturbing amount of people being put to death for crimes they did not commit. in tell we get a system where in finality we can prove with 99 % accuracy that the suspected has or has not committed the crime we should suspend the death penalty. We know already that the system is flawed. Justice is blind.

An eye for an eye leaves everyone blinded while not solving the problems that lead to crime in the first place. Treat the disease, human behaviour is only the symptom and not the cause of the offence. Law enforcement is not justice, it is a system of arbitrary value judgements used to subvert human compassion and freedom through the use of mom-opolized force. Death is not a valid solution to any problem, it is the tool of cowards who cannot face their own responsibilities towards other life on the planet.

You have to agree that some people are simply untreatable! And continue their crimes as soon as their released. There definately needs to be better systems in place! But i agree death is not always and infact most casses not the solution. Great coments thanks!😉
