I got my septum pierced when I was 19, back in 1995. I had a very nice, 14 gauge titanium segment ring in it when I was arrested in 2013, and they never gave them back to me. They were an uncommon type of segment ring, at 14 gauge and 8mm diameter, it was very tight.

I thought I had lost the segment as I was trying to put this one in this afternoon, but I eventually found where it escaped to, under the washing machine. This one is 14 gauge too but diameter 1.2, which is usually as small as 14 gauge rings come. It's going to be a bit strange for a while, I think, it always is, but I miss it so I'm glad I've got something again.

I was surprised how easily this one bent. Titanium is naturally harder, harder than surgical steel, and it is very difficult to bend it. I made it too wide really easily with a small pair of scissors. I had to bend it back and try to find that point at which the segment joint was tight enough without being impossible to get it to go in.

Why?

I have had that hole in my septum for more than half of my life now, and until 4 years ago, it almost always had something in there. I like it. I don't like it to be big and showy, but I like it. I don't know why. Perhaps it alters the way something works in my brain. The nasal mebrane is literally only millimetres away from the brain, you know.

🤗 cool mate

Looks pretty cool...

I've had mine for years and still love it. Good for you
