His boss is the real problem that is facing. He wouldn't have time for anything again if he accepted the offer that his boss present to him and that offer isn't a good one. The boss doesn't want him to move forward by telling him "he who care, loses", but still he keep the coat aside. Now the solution is that he should make the boss realize some fact about the current situation and everything he's been doing to bring him down since all this days. Maybe through this, the boss will notice is his own mistakes and reconcile.
