I was doing my homework. It'd been 10 minutes after I got home, and after rummaging through some cabinets in the kitchen, I hadn't see anything I felt like eating so I'd went to my room and started on my homework. I don't do my homework too often, so I didn't exactly expect it to be so easy.
I didn't have too much math homework, I just had 10 problems to do. I never realized that it would take about five or six minutes to do my math homework... And all this time, I'd been copying off of people, rushing to get it all copied by the time I had to go to Math. If I couldn't get it from anyone, I just got to turn in no homework, and get a zero. The only reason my grades are still high is because I pay so much attention in class (well, actually, I just have a pretty good memory on stuff like that) and get good grades on my tests.
I sifted through my binder to see what else I had to do.
Apparently, I had no more homework. I remembered that I did most of it in class because I get done with my work early.
"That's just great." I mumbled to myself. "The one time I want to do homework, and I have none. Nice. I thought.
I heard the doorbell ring and got up to go get the door. When I opened it, I saw Cody standing in front of me. "Um... Hiya." I said a bit shocked and confused at who was standing at my door. "Uh, hi Jessica." He said quite confused. "How'd you find out where I live?" I said with a suspicious glance. I walked home today and he took the bus, so I don't see how he would've just happen to notice when I entered my house. "I had no idea you lived here." His face flushed.
There was an awkward silence when neither of us really had an idea of what to say. Then, he seemed to have remembered why he was standing at my door. "Well, anyway." He paused. "I know I seem like a stalker to you right now or something." He quickly mumbled. "But it's not that way! I was, um, my dog ran up to your house and uh, decided to dig up your yard, so I just wanted wanted to come say sorry, and um, let you know that it was my dog." He noticed me glance behind him. "Oh, I took him back home." He said slightly pointing at a house across the street and three houses away from mine.
"I see..." I said not really knowing how to respond to that. There was a random pause. "I live right over there." He said pointing to the house again, trying to find something to say. "Nice." I said giggling.
"What?" He blushed.
I started laughing. "I'm sorry, it's just.." I cut myself off with more giggles. "What?" He was really turning red. "You're so tense and stuff. And like, struggling to find something to say." I said giving him a sweet smile. "And I don't really see why." He blushed, and I blushed too.
"Um... Well then, I don't see how that's so funny, but okay." He said nervously.
There was another awkward silence while we just stood there. "Yea..." I said trying to break it. "Yep." He said kind of swaying back and forth on his shoes. "Sooo..." I said. "Soooo..." He replied smiling at me, making me blush.
"On to the "so"s are we?" He said flirtatiously. I blushed harder this time. "Um, just kidding." He said turning red as he noticed that I was blushing. "Just trying to find something to say." He said nervously. "Uh.. sorry."
I broke out in giggles again. "Would you like to come inside or something?" I said holding open the door and gesturing inside. "We've been standing out here for a while." "Sure." He followed me inside as I shut the door.
