An Affair in Limbo

in story •  7 years ago

I preface this with the note that I've never attempted in once posting anything that I've written. All feedback is appreciated and the title is still a working title and the piece itself is still a work in progress. Enjoy.

She didn't ask for this, We didn't ask for that
Ignorance isn't bliss, alone she sat.

Waiter waiter, wait for me
I'd like to order some company

"We're out of stock
Of what you wish.
It might be a shock
But that's our best dish."

In walked Tom from HR
He just ordered a brand new car
Out walked Tammy, the recent hire
Suffering burns from her last fire

"They seem well, especially him
I'd like to order a slice of Tim"

"His name is Tom if you could read
I'll send him over since you plead"

A tip here, a tip there
Card stock under the wobbly chair
Salt and pepper running low
Where did our jelly go?

"I'm Tom not Tim as you said
One more mistake and you are dead"

"I'm sorry dear I'm going blind
All I saw was your behind"

"God is dead and so are we
Stuck to each other's company
So grab a chair, a drink, and a story
Don't spare the details, make it gory"

"My mother miscarried when I was eight
Now she only carries hate.
My father left when I was eleven.
He killed my brother when I was seven."

"Don't be a bore,
Tell me of the whore"
