Loving Vincent: The First Feature-Length Painted Animation Film

in story •  7 years ago

Loving Vincent is a feature-length animated film - the first where every frame is literally a painting. Every one of the 65,000 frames of the film is an oil-painting hand-painted by professional oil-painters. But sadly, Loving Vincent did not win an Oscar in Los Angeles in the best animated film category.

I don't know if it won any Oscar, because those statues don't matter anyway. Regardless, this film was something truly special.

A good painting , very nice

Incredible enlightenment continues to work good luck compact. @lopezdacruz

The best recipe to win Oscar is to shock. To shock no matter what.

I did not knew there was an animated film about him. Thanks for sharing

Awesome! Imagine it, that it took 65,000 frames! I can't imagine myself creating such work like that! 😮😮😲 Impressive!

Great work!

I couldn't wait for this movie to show up in our cinema...what a marvel!! Loved every moment of it!! It is a must-see - not just for the artists but everyone...:)

Beautiful movie. It really deserved the Oscar.

Great work! I really love Vincent Vang Gogh too! What painting do you like the most? :3

I prefer Makoto Shinkai movies like

amazing

As a film student, I heard a lot of flak about it----whatever it may be, the fact that every frame is oil painted by a separate artist really works for me. And frankly I love the film.
