Why is there so much more interest, taboo and criticism of Muslim-born individuals than non-Muslims (BY other Muslims)?
I personally see it everyday, especially around religious holidays. Everyone is interested in everyone's habits and faith! Are you fasting? Do you pray? Do you drink? Do you smoke?
WHY SO INTERESTED?
Where does this non-sense come from?
Muslims are surrounded my non-Muslims, yet choose to criticize, harass and bully other Muslims! Isn't it clear that we're all different and should just accept each other?
Apparently not. As it became a self-assurance ritual to harass others, many religious people assume religion is a tradition, from father to son and mother to daughter.
Questioning or wondering is considered a sin, even though it's not an actual sin!
Instead of critically thinking and speaking openly about everything with everyone to strengthen their faith, they transform that into anger and whatever type of harassment and obligations they had when they were kids, is shared with others!
It's scary to get out of your comfort zone and experience a world that makes you question everything you've known about yourself.
It's much easier to accept everything you're born into as your own, whether it be good or bad. It makes you feel a part of a community, like you belong somewhere.
BUT that's not why we have brains and a conscience.
Fear is part of young children's education, especially religious educations. It's easier to make a child do something they don't want to do by scaring them. However, this creates frustration and anger, which in turn creates much worst things like bullying, discrimination and hate.
If we really do want to pass our religion on to our children, I believe it should be through communication, and be their choice. Their faith will be much stronger.

I think it's because promoting good and forbidding evil are a part of our faith, so we feel justified to pry into others' relationships with God. We display our insecurities by judging others and showing that we are "better" Muslims than them. I think because in America we are a minority, we are also hyperobservant of our own community and fitting into the box of what it means to be Muslim.
