This is my first story, Hope you enjoy it :) ...

Cindy worked in a small cafe as a waitress in a small town, North of England. She didn't make much money nor did she have much excitement in her life but she was comfortable. Her 29th Birthday was just a month away and she was looking forward to celebrating the special day abroad on a beach in hawaii, cocktail in hand.

Whilst cleaning tables Cindy would smile at the thought of the sun's warmth, the breeze threw the palm trees and the crashing waves of the sea. This seemed to have taken over her mind lately because she had started to dream alot of the sand between her toes.

Dreaming was nothing new to Cindy, she liked to think of herself as a dreamer since there wasn't much els to do around town. Dreaming had been a great comfort over the years, a place to escape to, a place to be free & a place where Cindy could have everything she always wanted. In her dreams she felt complete, however in reality there was something missing. Someone missing but who?

The trip was only a week away and her dreams had become more intense. First she would see herself on the beach enjoying the moment but each night seemed to repeat with a little extra detail. She would dream of being on the beach but ending up in what looked like a guitar shop. Cindy had no interest in playing instruments so this puzzeled her but she thought nothing much of it. The strangest detail of this dream is that it would always end with an intense feeling of love and being complete.

1 week later ...

The plane had landed. The bright rays of sunlight blinding Cindy as she stepped foot onto the island. Amazing, she thought. Back home you made the most a the very few hours of sunshine per year but here there was bairly a cloud in the sky.

In the hotel, suitcase unpacked, Cindy decided she would take a walk around town and see the sights. Dressed in her new beachwear and sunglasses of course, she felt relaxed as she casually walked past small shops and the locals. Music to her ears as she watched ladies dancing in grass skirts and coconut bras next to a large gentleman who was sat playing the traditional music.

A golden sparkle in the cornor of her eye had attracted her attention towards the beach in the distance. Cindy began walking in that direction, her cheeks starting to ache from smiling so much. People with surf boards walked towards her as thou coming from the beach, there legs half covered in drying sand.

As they passed her she could see someone els who too would pass by. For some reason her eyes fixed on this masculin figure and as he came closer she could see he was wearing a flower print shirt with shorts and sandels. He looked to be around age 60 and not originally from Hawaii. Cindy had begun to feel a slight pressure in her chest which increased the closer they became. She stopped and took off her sunglasses. One hand over her heart and the other flapping up and down to try and cool her, the man passed by. As he passed her, Cindy looked at the man's face and when her eyes reached his .....

Feelings of love and mental images of past dreams came swirling round her mind almost making her dizzy. With a puzzeled look on her face she turned back to look at the mysterious stranger who was about to disapear from sight.
She continued on her path to the beach, but she couldn't get the image of his dark eyes out her head.

Multicoloured beach towel on the sand and Woo Woo (cocktail) now in a glass with a little umbrella, Cindy lay on her front hoping to catch a tan. She kept going over in her mind, all her main dreams which seemed as thou they where previous lives she had led. From tribal times to victorian, all dreams where she had built a life with her husband. Why did his eyes trigger theese thoughts?

She finished her drink as the heat began to make her a little sleepy. Packing her things away she though it best to head back as she didnt want to fall asleep in the sun. Walking back along the path, she didn't feel much different, still sleepy almost in a daze. Her legs began to feel like they wanted to go in their own direction.

Not paying full attention as to where she was going, the pressure she had felt before started to come back. As it grew stronger she regained her full awareness. She stopped to realise that her legs had taken her to a guitar shop. It looked just like the one in her dreams. The pressure had come to a halt but given her the urge to go inside. She opened the door and walked in to the sight of multipul guitars on rackets and the sound of tuning.

She walked slowly around the store, looking at each instrument. Unsure why she was there but she knew inside that it felt right. She came to a stop as she looked over at a man who was sat restringing an old style polished guitar. It was that same man from before whos eyes had started this whole craziness.

Cindy couldn't help but stand there frozen, looking at him. The stranger finished fixing the instrument and began playing to make sure it sounded as it was supposed to. Cindy found herself walking towards him and as she did, he looked up with a smile on his face.

The stranger turned his eyes to look at her, she look streight into them and all of a sudden that rush came back to her head. Scenes from dreams rushing around her mind, stronger than the first time. She did feel dizzy this time but managed to grip onto something before she fell.

With a look of concern in his eyes the stranger asked if she was feeling ok. Cindy smiled and assured him that she was fine. In those few split secounds of dizziness it had all become clear to her, well it felt clear but sounded insain. The man asked if she knew how to play. She shook her head and said "not really". He asked if she would like to learn a few notes. Cindy smiled and agreed.

She sat down beside him. He turned to face her, his smile growing bigger. He played a few chords and told her that it was easy stuff she should be able to pick up in no time. She laughed as she staired into his eyes like they where now familiar, warm and gentle.

He reached out to pass her the guitar and as he did, there hands brushed against each other. He immediatly looked up into her eyes as thoughts and feelings of dreams rushed throu his mind. Just like Cindy, he too had lived part time in dream land playing out many roles.

The man's name was Richard, he was 59 and had lived alone on the island for many years. His previous career as a TV news reporter had taken up much of his younger years and didn't leave much time for him to of settled down and start a family with anyone. Thou he had dated in the past, none of them seemed like 'The One' for him.

Richard's dizziness stopped. He too felt like this way right but insain. His eyes fixed on hers, he began to slowly try and explain a chord. It was clear to Cindy that something had struck him too, she asked "Did you feel that too?" He nodded and replyed "I think so". Cindy looked down at the guitar, her heart pounding in her chest. This doesn't make sence she thought.

Richard pulled on the top of his shirt to cool himself. He smiled and asked rhetorically if it had suddenly got warmer, "I could do with a drink, would you like some water?". Cindy said "yes please" as he stood up and walker over to the water cooler round the corner.

As Richard pour himself a drink, Cindy put down the guitar and walked over to him. He quickly drank up, grabbed another cup and began filling that for Cindy. He turned round as he heard her walk up to him, there eyes met again. That feeling in the chest came back, this time for both of them.

Like two opposite magnets attract, both of them where pulled together. She rested her head upon his chest as his arms wrapped around her. For a final time, they felt a rush only this time it felt like pure gold light pouring from both there hearts and merging into one surrounding them both.

The truth was clear, Richard and Cindy had been soul mates together in many previous lives. They hadn't been so much dreaming as remembering and had promissed to love each other no matter what for all eternity.

Unfortunatlly threw time, they had become a little out of sync. In a previous life they had onece again been married but Richard had passed away young causing him to move onto the next life way ahead of Cindy who had lived on to raise there children and grow older. Eventually Cindy has passed away and been reborn into the next life but this time 30years behind Richard.

Still locked in an embrace Cindy looked back up at him and said " I ment forever, no matter what". He smiled back giving her a tight squeeze then with tears glazing his eyes, he began to shake his head from side to side "but this time, look at me. I'm an old" ..."No" she stopped him mid sentence. Cindy smiled and said "You're my husband, my soul". She leaned in and whispered "I love you!", They kissed.

In that moment she had never felt more complete.
