My understanding about the world turned upside down thanks to a very nice grandmother. Today I try to help in difficult life situations, to those who need it. Perhaps in your mind, too, something will change after my story.
This happened in early 1997. Our father left us. We denied ourselves everything, because it was hard for my mother alone to support me and my elder brother. At the time, I was 12 years old. I looked at my peers who came to school in beautiful things with cool portfolios. Their parents could afford the best! I used to wear things my mother brought. I understood that they were already being worn by someone.
Once I walked from school and reached the entrance, where my neighbor Nura was sitting on the bench. I was caught up with girls from our class:
- Hey, Lyubka! Are not you ashamed to go to school like this? Maybe you'll tear your shmotyo on rags?
They laughed maliciously at me. I could not stand it, I cried and ran into the entrance. Now I tried to run away from school as quickly as possible, so that no one could overtake me and humiliate me, although I also heard unpleasant statements in my address in the classroom.
One day Nyura's grandmother called me.
- Lyubochka. Let's go to my house. I have things there are so beautiful there! I do not need them. And you might like it.
I climbed out of politeness to a neighbor, although in my head there were thoughts: "Why do I need this grandmother's clothes. Now this is not something like in her youth. " She gave me tea and gave me a package with a beautiful dress, elk, blouse and skirt. Still there was such a beautiful hairpin.
- You take it, I'm old. I do not need it.
This lasted another month. Every week she gave me beautiful things, and I was so grateful to her. They did not look old-fashioned and were like new ones. I helped my neighbor to clean the house, went to the store and carried out all her requests. She became like my own grandmother.
In one day she gave me a very beautiful suit. When I saw him, I remembered that I had seen almost the same in Svetka. She is from a wealthy family and always dressed "with a needle". Tears came into my eyes, I embraced Nyura's grandmother and was so grateful to her!
She bought all these things in the store, squandering half of her pension. Gave them away as unnecessary and old clothes, tearing off the tags from it. She knew that it was important for a girl to look beautiful even at that age.
I grew up and still did not forget about my grandmother. Her family did not come to her never, but she completely stopped walking with age. I have already learned how to buy my own apartment. I took Nyura's grandmother to me, and until her death I took care of her. So I wanted to repay her kindness at this difficult time for me.
Stories from people's lives are different, but I hope that my story will make you think. Be respectful of your elders and sometimes just say thank you to them for being there!
