Story Time ZEN: Muddy Road

in story •  6 years ago

Hello everyone, today I share another Zen reflection:

Source/Fuente

Two Buddhist monks walked together on a muddy road while it was raining heavily. When they came to a bend, they saw a beautiful girl in a silk kimono, who did not dare to cross a puddle. "Come on, girl," said one of the monks immediately and, lifting her in his arms, led her to the other side. The other monk remained silent until the night, when they arrived at a temple to stay. Then, he could no longer contain himself "Monks do not approach women, especially if they are young and beautiful, it's dangerous, why did you do that?" He said. "I left the girl there. You still bring her with you?" the other replied.

Sometimes in life we will find circumstances that we do not like or make us feel uncomfortable and we will have to deal with them, something totally inevitable and normal. But after this is our decision whether to move forward with our lives or "carry the problems behind our backs".

Many times we even carry problems that are not ours, whether they are from a relative or a friend and that does not correspond to us. Of course, we can help solve someone else's problems if it is in our hands, but not carry them.

Your peace is something very valuable, have a good day/night
