 A tale to remember ( Part 3 )

The male lifts his right hand as if he wants me to place mine in his. Nothing but silence is now surrounding us both here deep in the middle of the forest. The birds left and if I listen closely I can hear the heartbeat of the male in front of me. I don't like it when there is so much silence. To my knowledge it brings nothing but bad things your way. A forest needs to be full of life. The air filled with the songs of different birds who welcome a new day or day good night when the day ends. Butterflies dancing between the green leaves. A group of deer who try to be hidden but still end up being on my radar. I do hunt at times but mostly I just buy my food in the store like a normal human being. The fact that I can control my own shifting makes sure I do not kill all that much. Of course I always feel the need for a good hunt deep inside me. Nature of the beast.

Slowly and a bit unsure I life my right hand as well and place the soft palm against his. Within a blink of an eye he closes his hand and wraps his fingers tight around my. Compared to his rather small hand. I feel as if I am being hit by lightning and I stand frozen on my spot. I swallow deeply when I start to see images of the males life. Most are short flashes and they make no sense at all until I see my mothers face. My heart starts to race in my chest but the movie of his life playing on my mind stops abruptly when he pulls his hand back and his eyes grow big.

"We need to go NOW!"

I can hear the concern in his voice and see his eyes shift to pitch black. It surprises me because as far as I knew I have always been the only one in the family who showed anger or fear turning my eyes deadly black as the night. I had hoped to finally know what he wanted from me but instead I am standing here with even more questions. I don't move nor do I speak. The confusion is master of me right now

"Seriously we need to go NOW!"

I have no time to react with words because he grabs my arm and starts to pull me in his direction. The fact of this action pulls me out of the hypnotic state I was in but like my feelings already told me, bad things would come my, or in this case our way. I turn around fast but it still feels like I do it in slow-motion. I spot the silhouette of a dark figure on my right and three more behind it. The silence that was wrapped around is like a warm blanket is now replaced with sounds as loud as thunder. I have been off guard. Totally focused on the male who seems to be my father. I paid no attention to what was happening around and behind us.

How could I have been so blinded to forget the danger that always lurks in every corner where I am? It was just a matter of time for them to find me or my family for that matter. I let out a loud growl and my razor sharp fangs push themselves from my gum leaving a bitter taste of pure hate on my tongue. Most of family member would run when faced by hunters. I am not made that way, I have to much pride in my soul to run. My grandmother always blamed my father for the feisty part of me.

It only takes a second or two for the male to pull me behind him. At least it shows that he is not here to hurt me. He growls low from his stomach and I see that he is starting to shift.

"LEAVE! NOW! I WILL FOLLOW!"

His words are hard, harsh and spoken in a commanding way. I am not one to obey any order but for some reason I push myself away and start to run.The last sound I hear is that of a swords, magical hunter swords being pulled from their holders.

 Stay tuned for more.....
