Ninety nine percent is not enough

99% will not do

As it is that most academic institutions in Nigeria grade 70% as excellent or Distinction in examination. However, God require requires nothing less than 100% in our daily relationship with Him! In rendering worship, fellowship and services unto Him, he wants the very best from you.

Based on human assessment, one would have given King Saul a standing ovation for conquering the Amalekites and destroying all they had. He only spared King Agad and some spoils meant for sacrifice to God; not even for his personal consumption.

In God’s own rating, he was disobedient because God’s express instruction was that he should “utterly destroy all that they have and spare them not”. This act of partial disobedience greatly displeased the Lord because He actually expected total obedience from saul.

Similarly, God demands absolute obedience from you in your walk with Him. He is perfectly holy and requires perfect holiness from you. Don’t be deceived by the erroneous belief that God will pardon you provided your good deeds outweigh your evil deeds. The truth is that anything devoid of complete obedience falls short of God’s standard and expectation from you.

To attain complete obedience to God, you must receive the offer of salvation provided by the blood of Jesus Christ. I mean, you must accept Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. Second, depend on God for a daily victorious Christian life, knowing that you can’t please God by your own strength.

Third, have faith in God. Pleasing God is never achieved by human effort or struggle but by faith in Him. Believe in the power of God to enable you live an upright life.

Lastly, remain yielded and connected to God. This entails submitting your will to God and allowing Him dictate how you should live your life. In other words, pattern your life after the will of God as revealed in the scriptures.
God told Abraham to walk before him and be perfect. Walking in total obedience to God will help you to reflect His life and glory. He will in turn release His fullness of blessings in complete obedience to God in Jesus name.
