I remember wasting my time arguing with a few people who believed that Trump had stepped in and assisted Ball and other UCLA players who had apparently stolen some items in China.
My position was that they didn't owe Trump anything, and thus, weren't obliged to tell Trump thank you. The people who thought otherwise, cited Trump and various articles that hinted that Trump somehow assisted.

That's 100% false, they had surveillance footage of them robbing a Louis Vuitton store in China. China has a 99.9% conviction rate.
