Running Chapter 1

As I ran from the car to the house a strong feeling of despair overwhelmed my inner thoughts. I thought about how my grandmother had died looking into my eyes that very afternoon. I can still remember the stories she told about how it was growing up a young girl in postwar Germany. She would have to plant potatoes in old parks so they would have food for the months to come.
I thought about how in a blink of an eye my life turned into this horrific nightmare, it happened when I found out what the truth about Elizabeth was. I still can't grasp it, but there must be something very wrong with all of this .
As I approached the porch and prepared to leap into the house as fast as I could. I saw misty, his cat. The eyes of this feline creature brought back memories of when I was a child and everything seemed to just be the way it was.

I entered the house, ran into the Kitchen, they aren't here! Searched the whole house , there was nobody there.
I walked into his room and opened the closet door, took his shot gun into my hands and aimed it right below my jaw ...
