Great prince of our land, I welcome you to my home. I m honoured that you are visiting my little abode but I am wondering what possibly I could owe this royal visit, he said.
I greet you Aigbon, prince Edimo said.
Aigbon called for chairs for them to sit. His eyes went to the gifts, I wonder what this visit i all about, he said light-heartedly.
After they were seated, the queen began to talk. Aigbon, the great merchant of Ugbo whose popularity has spread far and wide. I greet you. I greet you, my queen, Aigbon responded. I am sorry I am not offering you Kola but of course I am sure you, like everybody in Ugbo, know that Aigbon does not offer kola but of course, I am sure you, like everybody in Ugbo, know that it was true.
Aigbon does not offer Kola, he said and laughed. It was true. Aigbon was too stingy, everyone knew of it and he was very proud of it.
What we have come for is more important than kola, the queen said.
Aigbon sat up, okay I am all ears, he said.
My Son here, prince Edimo, the heir apparent to the throne of his father has told me something very interesting and I have come here to rub minds with you, she said.
Rub minds with me? okay go on, Aigbon said, his face had gone expressionless.
He has seen a fair floweret in your house and it has captured his interest, the queen said.
Aigbon sniggered. Everybody sees the fair floweret in my house.
