Hacking Android 2: Are WiFi Networks Safe?
Hacking Android First and before starting the section I would like to apologize for the time that has passed since the first article in this section. After that, in today's article we will talk about WiFi networks, the ones we all connect to save data from our Android phone without really knowing if we are in danger.
Hacking Android 1: hacker prologue
We have all connected in some airports or foreign cities to public WiFi networks in order to get in touch with our friends or family since data roaming is not especially cheap.
Public WiFi network Free Internet?
Many of us do not know the risks that exist today in computing and in security of our data. To this day, the most precious thing we have is our privacy, which is increasingly diminishing until we have practically all our data shared on the internet. But, this does not correspond to having to disclose our passwords and more personal data to the owner of a WiFi network.
Although in Spain, in legal terms this can not be done, we all know that many people are dedicated to being outside the legality by getting things done illegally. That is why, when we connect to an open WiFi network what we are doing is to send data packets through it with everything we look for by sending a server information and this answering to us.
Now comes the big question how can you see the passwords that I use? There are several ways to intercept those packets that you send to the server with, for example, Facebook user and password. With a WiFi network ready for it, and a program to view the packages that are sent from our WiFi network, we can observe and find everything that is done within our open WiFi network.
So, when you see a WiFi network open without a password from now, do not connect as if nothing to save data, do not put your passwords if you are connected since someone else might be watching.
While this article does not explain step by step how to create such WiFi network to see the data, in the first article of this section we commented that we were not going to promote the creation, in this case, WiFi networks to steal data.
Really good tip, never do anything of importance on an open WiFi network.
