Story time- not alone

So this actually happened to my older sister, I'll be telling it like she told it to me.

(Side note) This happened when my sister was in her final year of high school. She was at home alone studying for her exams.

Martin was dropping off some books Melissa (my best friend) had borrowed from me to make notes for the up and coming exams. Standing by the gate and procrastinating a little we started a conversation. He had to leave so I turned toward the house, for a split second I thought I saw our domestic worker in the window.

I hadn't known that she had taken the day off. When I went back inside there was no one in the house, I checked all of the rooms and locked the doors. Feeling that maybe I was just paranoid and that maybe my mind was just playing tricks on me I went back to my room, closed the door and continued to study. About an hour later I heard voices from outside in the hall... I quickly and quietly called Shane (my older brothers friend) and explained what was going on. He knew how to get into the house since he and my brother use to break out alot. 5 minutes later he stopped at our gate. The sound of the car scared off the intruders because I heard them run.

There were 3 intruders inside my house, Shane stayed with me until my dad got home. I sudder to think what would have happened if I hadn't called him.

After that there were a few burglaries in the house and we ended up moving after my dad passed. No one was ever caught.
