Storytime- realizing life is short

Hey guys, so I can finally share this story with you. I'm happy to say that it has a happy ending.

So Sunday morning the love of my life gets a call from his mother. She was asking him to try get hold of his uncle because there was an accident and his 16 year old cousin is in the ICU... then we hear the story... I'm not lying, my blood turned cold and still to this day I'm horrified by what she had gone through.

See the family was on holiday in the Drakensburg. Now the place they were staying at had a pool, and it seems like some kind of lake with a swimming area...
Now as the story was told. His cousin was swimming in the lake when she got caught in a currant that dragged het head first down the lake or river... her head got stuck underwater between two boulders. The people she was swimming with and her mom who was on the side saw this happen and they tried pulling her out... but they couldn't do it so they got help from nearby swimmers. It took six people to pull her out... she was under water for at least 4-5 minute and was conscious through all of it, that was until they pulled her out.

She passed out and needed CPR... fortunately her brother and one of the people they were with knew how to do it and she soon regained consciousness. With no signal where they were, a kid ran to the top of the hill to call the emergency team. She was airlifted out and rushed to the hospital...

The emergency team who showed up were pleased that there had been someone who knew CPR and mentioned that when they get called out, the person is never this lucky.

At the hospital she got cleared for brain damage and was kept under supervision to ensure she does not get pneumonia.

She is quite the sport and retained her sense of humor. She was cleared to go home. We are very grateful that things weren't worse.

I realize how quickly things can happen and how instantly a life can be taken away. So to those of you on holiday or who will be driving long distances. Please be safe this holiday.

Cpr saves many lives every year.Sounds like you are grateful. Thank god someone knew it, happy holidays.

That's very true. I wish they would actually teach school kids how to do CPR and other life saving tips. It's covered by the reading material but doing it in person is different to reading it in a book.

good story

It was a relief to read she is safe. And yes, some one is always waiting for you to come home so always be careful.
