Ode to the Monkey
A Sonnet by The Invisible Man
A Sonnet by The Invisible Man
My kind monkey, you inspire me to write.
How I hate the way you bark, prowl and roar,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the creepy tor.
Let me compare you to a bad buffoon?
You are more secret, passionate and mad.
Glad sun heats the shiny peaches of June,
And summertime has the sad launching pad.
How do I hate you? Let me count the ways.
I hate your sleepy fingers, thigh and feet.
Thinking of your weepy thigh fills my days.
My hate for you is the briny gamete.
Now I must away with a piney heart,
Remember my wild words whilst we're apart.
Thanks for reading,
The Invisible Man
