My son’s entrepreneurial mind and spirit…

in story •  8 years ago

My 11 year old son started to sell Ninja Stars made out of paper for a $1-4 at school. The price was higher if it was deemed cooler than the other colors, so the silver and gold one got top dollar. He then convinced me to purchase pop sockets and fidget spinners. I agreed as this was a way for him to raise money for some of his teammates on his AAU basketball team to help cover their fees. We just received the shipment of 100 pop sockets and 100 fidget spinners, yesterday, we have sold 77 pieces so far at an average price of $5 in the first day and now the spinners are sold out. We are way over breakeven with under 80 pieces to sell. He definitely has the entrepreneurial spirit, which these days is an asset. I hope he continues to develop it and is able to create opportunities for himself and others in the future. I'm proud of him for helping some of his teammates! What are some of the other ways kids are using to make or raise money?
