Instead of writing something new tonight I thought I'd share this little tale I told a couple of years ago on another social media platform. Every time I remember this story I smile a little more. Ladies and Gentlemen, The Possessed Toothbrush.
“Well......we purchased an electric toothbrush some months ago, and for several months it gave us great service. Nothing powered through plaque quite like that indefatigable toothbrush. Night and day he laboured through garlic breath and dry morning mouth. Until one day his on/off switch failed to operate. Oh sad day! A tragedy to rival anything the Greeks could compose! I had a backup brush, however Ange had to keep using him. Give him a shake. Nothing. Click the switch repeatedly. Nothing. Then we had to pack him to go away for a couple of days. Imagine our amusement when we heard a buzzing noise coming from our suitcase! It sounded like....well like a buzzing noise. ;) This happened a couple of times while we were away too, eerily at hours when we would normally brush our teeth...
Finally we got home and I put him in the bin. Oh but he wasn't done!! The sound of him vibrating against the sides of the steel bin was enough to make the blood drain from our faces and [insert other suitable physiological fear reactions here] Being the curious type, I decided to take a screwdriver and see exactly what was going on. Slowly I extracted each screw, wondering whether he was going to start up and cause me to have another fear reaction in my trousers. No, he didn't start up.
Because all the wires were burnt out, and a crucial wire leading from the battery was not even connected.”
