IN MY HEAD EPS10

Ayo got back to the District Police Headquarters with Daniel before the close of work. They dropped the report in the station, and signed out.

Daniel wasn't just going to let it go. He had to finish up his talk with Ayo, and ask a few ticklish questions about his wife.

The cutest police officer in the district was having a problem in his already failing three year old marriage, because there was no child.
Daniel could remember going to the courtroom with Ayo, as his best man. That was the best thing to have ever happened to him; the suits, the after party, the squad thing, and how the whole party went.
Ayo had loved Amanda so much then, that he never thought about any problem coming in the future; not even that of childbirth.

Amanda already had five miscarriages, and to worsen it all, Ayo was already seeing a new lady.
The way he had explained things to Daniel, was a bit complicated.
Talks about the new girl being the person he could have married instead of Amanda, still weren't sounding right enough to justify Ayo, as a person higher than a cheat to Daniel.

Daniel spotted Ayo going for his ash-coloured Toyota Avensus. He abandoned his car, and moved forward with an ample pace, till Ayo caught sounds of his footsteps.

"Coming with me?" Ayo asked, his eyebrow arched in a bow. He looked away as he took off his tie and threw it in the car, before climbing in.
He looked out through the window on the opposite side and noticed Daniel wasn't leaving. Then, he wound down his car window and smiled.
"Is your car faulty again?"
"Somehow..." Daniel replied, leaning on the window with a beam.
"I don't mind you dropping me off down the road." He added.
"Get in." Ayo said without a second thought. Once Daniel was in, he started the car engine and pulled out of the lot, heading for the main gate.
Daniel sat relaxed, as he pulled the seat belt across his chest. After having it fixed, he dropped his left hand between his open legs, and rubbed his fingers against one another.

"I know you want us to talk about my wife. She is your friend. I know that." Ayo said, as he held on carefully to the wheels. Daniel glared for a few seconds, then took his eyes away, swallowing hard. He was the type who would admit the truth late, and his silence defeated the aim of his ride with Ayo.
They said nothing else till Ayo pulled up in front of Daniel's apartment. Ayo pushed a button here and there, and a round of clicking sounds were made- the car doors unlocked. "Enjoy your evening, bro. We have a lot to cover tomorrow." Ayo said.
Daniel stepped out of the car gently, after he had flashed a smile to show that things were OK. Then he slammed the door close, and moved away, only to watch the car zoom off fleetly.

Luta watched the liquor drip off the bottle he had in his hand, into a glass on his table.
That was the last drop and he was just going to waste it like every other.
He took the glass of liquor and poured it into a bowl. He carefully took off the bandage he had on his palm, and dipped his hands into the liquor. He screamed out in pain, and displaced the bowl in the process; the liquor all over his rug.

His eyes went abroad. He let go of his hands, as he heard footsteps approaching his door. He got up swiftly with his heart hitting his rib cage, faster than the movement of the fear cutting across his veins.
Everything was wrong about the visit, and he was on the edge, with so many thoughts opposing him.
He was going to run from whosoever it was through the backdoor. He was going to get away faster and farther, to where he wouldn't be traced, since he felt he would be hunted soon.

The knock finally landed on his door. All his feelings tottered, his plans, toppled.

Whoever it was, knew he was home. There were so many signs to show- his lights were on, and people had seen him get in. His not opening up on the other hand, would tell he was on the run.
He reached his table, grabbed the fixed knife on it, and was soon back at the door.

He unfastened the lock and pulled the door closer to himself, only to see a smart, young man standing in the dark. That was all to the features he could pick. The man was on a regular, yellow round neck top, and a pair of black jeans, with a newspaper squeezed in his armpit, as he extended his other hand for a shake. He was a complete stranger; someone Luta had never seen all his life.

"Good evening. I am Ayo." The man said.
