When the second weeding period was due, he had no option than to do it himself, rather than allow the weed to destroy his hard work.

Rain had fallen on the crops and harvest time came. Leke crops didn't do well as part of the produce had been destroyed by weeds, but Ade had a bountiful harvest.

His 500 yams seeds produced more than what 1,500 seeds of yam would normally produce. Ade was so happy. From the sale of his produce, he bought a new wrapper, rebuilt his mud house and mended the leaking roof.

"Ade, the god of fortune is now smiling on you," Leke complimented him but deep down his heart, was secret jealousy; he was jealous of Ade bountiful.

"He didn't even feel sorry for my loss?" Leke thought. Every day he kept on nursing his anger and hatred against his friend until it became hate.
