Photo Assignment contest- Amelia Frozen

in storyfromphoto •  7 years ago

This is a short story of fiction made for the contest proposed by @gamer00, who gives us a beautiful picture of a tree with drops of water, as a source of inspiration. In addition, the story must contain three photos more of our authorship for support and illustrate the story.

Amelia Frozen

Amelia turned her back and hugged the pillow. She tightened his eyelids as if he wanted two heavy stones to crush those insistent thoughts. Through the window, the air came occasionally and the white curtains fluttered. Even so the night was hot, his wet body turned from side to side without finding accommodation. His thoughts wandered again in the same circle. It was then that she felt the urge to fly off, and land on the moon. On a moon with an unknown face shape.

Seven years had passed since that day. It was a night in October. That day, the storm damaged some power towers, the service was suspended for several hours. Then Amelia turned away from her books and computer. When the rain stopped, she opened the window of the room, located next to the door that leads to the street. She looked amazed, the trees with their branches broken and the leaves that chaotically upholstered the street. Then she stopped looking at a small tree. There the rain looked like a drop of water in the desert. The water kissed those arid and thirsty leaves.

She returned and stacked the books and notebooks that were on the desk. Then she took from the library, a book of literature that she had read three times, opened it on any page and read three pages, then folded the tip of the page where the reading was, and walked quickly towards the garden. She smiled when saw that his orchids had not been destroyed by the storm. One of them caught her attention, it seemed grateful, the rain had given a touch of life to its aging petals. Like that little desert tree on the street.

It was already seven in the evening, the energy arrived and Amelia returned to her studies. His mind struggled to spin a meticulous composition of letters that gave coherence to that work. While checking his email from time to time. His attention was diverted when she read a message from a stranger that said - "I hope your English is good" -. She did not stop to think who this stranger was, only that message caught her attention, coincidentally she was doing a basic english course on weekends. After a brief talk, this stranger said _ "I can help with your English classes" - There began a vicious circle for Amelia, this was similar to that panorama of nature. Rain kisses for the thirsty leaf and chaotic storm.

Six Octobers passed, full of intense joys but also of great frustrations. Encounters and disagreements. Everything seemed so real and at the same time so intangible. Amelia felt suffocated in that dark labyrinth. She tried to get out of there many times without success. In her intensity, she sought relief in the sermons of the priest, in the spirituality, in the wisdom of the elder, in yoga, in the dance, but nothing changed. She was still trapped.

Amelia continued uncomfortable in bed. She turned his gaze to the window, and saw a faint ray of light enter through his window. She got up from the bed to look at the moon, since she was a child she wanted to escape to that place, but there was no moon there, it was just a faint ray of sun.

Then she came down the stairs and washed her dawn face with cold water. With firm steps she went to the kitchen and picked up a mold with a heart shape, the one she used to shape the rice. She put water in it and froze it. And she said herself with determination _ ¡Today freeze you forever, bandit heart!
