Beautiful shots @shaka, I didn´t even know there is a town called Lagos in Portugal (only knew the Nigerian one :) Oh and cool initiative! I host a similar upvote giveaway every Saturday :) Anyway, @gabrielatravels is one of the best travel bloggers on Steem but her work is still undervalued sometimes. You might want to check her latest post here.

Thanks for the tip. She has a nice blog indeed. I just left an upvote on here latest entry. I did follow her already but it seems I keep missing her posts. Reminds me to consolidate my home feed once again ;)

Thanks, very kind of you :) Gabriela is one of those Steemians that I put my autovoter on proudly and without any remorse as you can be sure your are thus supporting quality content only.

Omg @phortun, thank you so much for pointing out my blog to another steemian! Don't know how much it means to you but to me it means EVERYTHING! It keeps motivating me to push my limits and efforts as much as I can and bring out the best of every single place I visit. Seriously, thank you so, so much! 💞
And @shaka, you are an amazing human being and your support and upvote is not less appreciated. I love meeting new awesome people and I thank you for your kind words from the bottom of my heart! Many hugs for both of you! 🤗😘

Aww, you are too sweet Gabriela :) Like I said a few times already, it is my pleasure to promote work of my fellow Steemians who put a lot of effort in their content and it is sad to see it undervalued while posts of some other members of our community are making hundreds of Steem, although their quality is incomparably lower. That´s why I really appreciate any initiative by honest curators like @shaka and I always try to nominate someone who I think deserves it ;) I am happy to receive such a positive feeback from you Gabriela :)

And I'll always have this kind of appreaciation for people like you and @shaka. It's very kind when you have some upvote power in plus than others to help them as well. And I hope I'll get there soon so I can return all the love I got from people like you, but also help steemians who deserve it. Too bad I'm not that good at exteriorizing myself as I'm an introvert, and I don't know how to show everything I feel and how happy I am. But my heart is dancing, hehe :)

I think you have been doing great ;) Especially for an introvert (I am one too so I know the struggle but it is important to realize that being an introvert is not a bad thing, can be an asset actually ;)

Bin mal so frei den Post von meinem Freund zuteilen - paar % hätt er sich denke ich verdient: https://steemit.com/deutsch/@weitblicker/traumhafte-morgenwanderung-auf-den-kleinen-pyhrgas :)

Great roadtrip and interesting insights. Enjoyed it a lot. Upvoted and resteemed!

Tolles Land, bin dort immer wieder gerne.

Beautiful pictures...I'd never heard of Lagos, Portugal before. Once, I spent 6 weeks in Cadiz, Spain. So I have feel of the place when I look at these picture. Couldn't place it in my head so I looked for a map. Just in case anyone else is wondering where exactly Lagos is, here's a map (public domain) from 1700. Many things may have changed in the last 300 years, but Lagos is still there :)

It was the same for me, before I went there I only knew about Lagos in Nigeria. Interestingly, the African Lagos got it's name from it's Portuguese "discoverers" in 1472. For a long time Lagos was the main port where the Portuguese vessels departed towards Africa. It's an exciting place with a rich history.

I'm a map person, and a history person. Usually colonialists imposed names of their home country on conquered lands. This is kind of reverse colonialism. I was curious and guessed that it must be tied to the slave trade. Sure enough.. Lagos was the entry point for slaves coming into Europe. Fascinating. Looked it up: https://www.theportugalnews.com/news/new-lagos-museum-focuses-on-citys-role-in-european-slavery-trade/26858
Did you see references to this history (as slave trading port) while you were there?

Yes, it was Lagos to were the very first slaves were brought to Europe. The African voyages of the Portuguese started all this. I had visited the old slave market, whose building still exists. But I didn't take photos of it.

Wow, that place is so green and beautiful! Even if it's a building it makes you feel the nature freedom and I love it! Added it on my bucket list and I really hope to get to see it with my own eyes one day, too! :)

Yes, this building is really striking. You can google it as the Green House of Lagos. It looks amazing when the sun reflects on the green tiles. Thanks for stopping by!
