Hey Steemians,
this year me and 3 friends spent New Year‘s Eve in Strasbourg, France. It‘s located in the Alsace region and counts about 270.000 habitants. 2016 I visited Strasbourg in summer and it looked like a town straight out of a fairytale: flowers overall, medieval looking houses and a slim river that curls through the city. Immediately I fell in love!
So this year we arrived after the christmas season and the christmas market and light decorations were still existing. I never saw that much lights and cute decorated streets at once!
Absolutely impressed by the warm-hearted atmosphere we strolled through the small streets and lanes, stopping every minute to soak up the spirit of this city. Sticking out definitely is the ‚Petite Frace‘ quarter, which houses lots of little restaurants (and most of them sell delicious Tarte Flambee!)

I have to say that New Year‘s Eve in Strasbourg by itself is unspectacular in my opinion. Private fireworks are officially forbidden in France and the turn of the year was celebrated only with single little fireworks which got ignored by many policemen. So if you wish for the best New Year‘s party of your life I would not recommand Strasbourg! Therefore it‘s great for all those of us who want to spend short holidays in a wonderful looking city and a have a relaxed New Year‘s Eve.

BIG RECOMMENDATION!
