And that's a wrap for tonight folks, especially as I streamed for nearly 8 hours tonight, but it was a pretty good stream, all things considered! Thanks to everyone who joined me for the stream, it's always appreciated! Again, thank you to everyone who followed me over the past couple of weeks or so, as it does help me out a lot! Thanks also to Lordsloth, the most recent person who followed me!
First of all, we got to the end of Stoneshard: Prologue at long last, and picked up a couple more achievements, meaning there's 2/11 left to get, though I'll be doing at least one of them off-stream, and I might record the other achievement, just so people can see what happens when I go through that, given that that particular achievement needs to be done at the final battle, whereas the other one is kinda mundane; I'll start recording the ending battles for each session, and wipe them till I get the required achievement, seeing as it will either be a replication of tonight or the previous times that I attempted to complete it, so watch this space for the video!
All that said, however, where does this leave us with the starter game for Wednesdays now? Well, given that I didn't do Stories Untold this week, I decided to fire up Barony once more, and I learnt that it had an update, and also some new DLC, which means Barony is back on the menu as a starter! I'll be purchasing the DLC before I stream next week, but I ended up doing about 5 hours of Barony, albeit unintentionally, but it was awesome at the same time! First of all, the update has really made things a lot easier to work out, and also show my progress with my stats, plus it added a new stat called "alchemy"; I haven't played around with it a lot right now, but I do intend to do it next week! Additionally, there are 8 new races and I believe 8 new classes, although the first DLC gives you access to 4 of each, which is pretty cool, as it really makes a great game even better!
On that note, I did some really good runs this time around, getting further than I've ever been before, and also getting another achievement or 2, and also in a few runs, I got quite powerful, although once more the boulders have pretty much screwed me over, if not the minotaur! One particular run lasted less than a minute before I got squished by one, and my final run of the night, I reached Floor 9 (also after clearing out the Temple level), and pretty much got murdered by a boulder as soon as I looked around a corner! Either way, it was a great session tonight, and even if I went over twice as long as I had planned to, I did at least achieve quite a bit! But yeah, next week will be the regular 3-4 hour stream, with Barony to start, then Stories Untold to finish, as I need to try to make sure I don't exceed 4 hours on my Wednesday streams in the future, as I need to make sure I have timings nailed, as it will affect my Thrifting schedule otherwise!
As always (providing things are working out), next stream is on Friday, where I'll be doing some more Isaac and getting further in Doom II: TML, which I expect to be doing for another week or two after this Friday, so I really need to come up with a new game! I also need to come up with something for the Wednesday 2 weeks from now, but I need to think about what I have available and what is feasible to play. Stoneshard will eventually feature on WW, but I'm going to have to put a hold on that for now, as I want to go through some other games first, plus I'll probably want to showcase that game on my "Sunday Super Show" slot, after also doing a "Lightning Plays" slot with it first, as from now on, any games still under development need to be given a "First Look" beforehand, so that means I'll have to clear up the backlog; I'll probably need to consider if I want to do something every week, or every 2 weeks, but it depends on what I have to show as well.
I intend to start both Lightning Plays and the SSS from May, to give me time to get scheduling and other stuff going. Keep in mind too that as well as giving a better demonstration of upcoming games, I'll also be showcasing additional game content, such as maps, mods and TCs, regardless of if they're old, new, or upcoming; I'll also be doing a strategy section too, and by the looks of things, I'll probably have 3 hours of the strategy section, and 2-3 hours of the showcase, with around a 15-20 minute gap between the two segments, to allow me to take a break and also prepare the next segment. One show a month (the last one) will also have a Q&A section at the end for people to field questions, although I'll need to work out how to set that up; I'll probably roll that out in June or July, once I have gotten a solid schedule down for everything as everything is still in the planning stages, but this will bring my total streaming slots to 4 a week, and that's the maximum I'll do!
Occasionally, I'll use the showcase slot to show off other projects I'm working on as well or other interesting/crazy stuff, though I've not really got anything to show in that regard as of yet. Lastly, I'm looking at having the slot happen earlier in the day, as opposed to the 21:00 hours starts I usually do, so I'm currently looking at between 12:00-14:00 for starting the slot, finishing between 18-00-20:00, depending on when I start. Either way, don't expect anything till May at the earliest as I need to make sure I can keep to my current schedule, and sort other things out, especially as I also need to sort out Let's Plays as well, although I may scale down to 2 a week from May (Tuesday & Thursday), going up to 3-4 a week from June. In any case, April is not going to change too much, except at the end of this Friday's Isaac session, I reset slot 2 for a fresh start in April, as hopefully it will reverse my losing streak, plus give me a chance to start again. Either way, not a lot will be changed in April, though over the second quarter (till the end of June) I will finally try to roll out standardisation between Linux and Windows overlays, as well as fixing outstanding things here and there, to make a smoother experience for everyone, not just me!
Lastly, May is technically my 1 year anniversary for streaming, but I'll instead be celebrating that on July, given there was a break last year, and July feels like a more appropriate time to celebrate anyway. though what I'll be doing (or if I'll be doing anything), I've not got a clue right now, but maybe I'll think of something in July, so we'll see what happens between now and then. I also need to start preparing myself for uploading the first SGU Thrifts video around the middle to the end of July, as I've determined that I'm best off uploading the video on a particular day, on the last [whatever]day of the new session start, so that means that July-September will have the video uploaded in the last week of October; this also means that the videos will be done quarterly, to save on faffing about in the future; I'll do a better schedule on my blog pages later on, and link to the changes when they're done, although I have a lot of changes to make!
Either way, that's it for now. Again, I'll be streaming this coming Friday with Isaac and Doom II, so hopefully, I'll see you then. If not, there is also this Monday and Wednesday next week. I will be a lot more strict with my ending slots from April though, as I need to start rolling out consistency amongst other things. There will be a lot of changes coming over this year, so be sure to keep an eye out for them, and if you have any suggestions, then do let me know! I have plans to make things a more democratic in the future, once I increase my follower count, as it'll make it easier. I also have other plans that I'll be impementing a bit sooner, but more on that another time.
Until next time, take care and good night!
