A Bridge of Vibrant Colours and Swirling Designs – Street Photography

Spanning the Singapore River at Robertson Quay, this pedestrian bridge is one of the most vibrant and artistic landmarks in the city.

A bridge too colourful

The shape of the “Alkaff Bridge” resembles that of a traditional “tongkang” river boat, which plied the rivers of Singapore a century ago. The design, however, is far from traditional. A few years after the bridge was built, the Filipino artist Pacita Abad painted it in vibrant colours with bold, swirling designs.

While the night lighting (and maybe my camera’s flash) make the structure appear red, it actually has 6 base colors – yellow, pink, red, green, blue and orange. This is my entry in @juliank’s Street Photography contest.

You should see Siem Reap nowadays, with its channels and little bidges, for Khmer New Year is enlightened at feast!

Would love to see it. Maybe next year.

Here in Chiang Mai, where the new year festivities are called "Song Kran". There's an old tradition of people pouring water over the hands of their elders, and over icons of Buddha, and so on.

There's a new trend where everyone runs around spraying and splashing and pouring water over anyone they come across. I got a bit wet when I went out for lunch, and soon I'll go out for dinner and few beers. Before I stop out, I'm gonna dress in drip-dry clothes.

Happy New Year, ... to you and all other "Asians"

A very beautiful photo, it perfectly conveys the beauty of the bridge and the illumination of the light.

Очень красивое фото, оно великолепно передает всю красоту моста и иллюминацию света.

Nice splash of color and distinctive architecture on the SIngapore River in Robertson Quay. The steel truss bridge is 55 metres in length and weighs about 230 tonnes. It is shaped like a tongkang (a light boat used commonly in the early days to carry goods along rivers), and is situated near the former Alkaff Quay. Alkaff Quay was named after a prominent Arabian family, the Alkaffs, who were among the wealthiest in Singapore during the early 20th century...

this is a simple review man, these are the facts of the bridge that i have done

No. It's plagiarism. Here's the evidence.

You can admit it or deny it. Just do NOT do it again on my posts.

It is really interesting how people, in the quest of sounding intelligent, fall for plagiarism. I just hope the situation improves and our friend here learns his lessons early enough.
