Glass Insulator • Street Photography

RopeWire.jpg

Here is a glass insulator on a roof I came across while hiking on a dirt road in the Mojave desert last week. It looks like it was attached to a radio antenna... could be better than mobile service out here! The sun is hitting it just right illuminating the safe connection... protecting rope from electric wire.

Even though its not high tech the black and white definitely gives it more of a vintage feel.

I photographed the insulator with my Canon 5D camera and 70-200 mm lens.

Thank you @juliank for creating @photocontests!
