In 2011, whist travelling in India, i found myself compelled to take photos of daily life and everyday scenes. I enjoyed this process so much that i decided to research other people with similar interests and with time i stumbled across Documentary Photography and Street Photography as a practice.
Photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson and Bruce Gilden inspired me very heavily in the beginning. This validated my thoughts that street photography was an art form, as opposed to thinking that i was being creepy; and like that i was addicted. I started off shooting only using available light, over time and as my confidence grew i switched to almost exclusively using flash. These days I carry a camera almost everywhere i go and i don't hesitate in pulling it up in front of strangers anymore.
I have been sharing a lot of my images on IG up until now and with the increase in advertising and lack of reach, i have decided to try out Steemit as an alternative. I look forward to sharing my images with a growing community and welcome feedback/discussions. I have recently moved away from Australia to live in Taiwan, and i have been shooting more than ever. I am also in the process of working on a photo book which I am hoping to finish in the coming months and will be available to purchase with crypto :)
I will begin with images I took in Melbourne in 2015-16, most of the photos were taken on my Sony A7s although the last two were taken on a Polaroid Colourpack II with FP-100c instant film.
Thanks for having me. Dan.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look, more photos can be found on my IG (for now) @_danbryant
Cheers.
