Mother and Child on their way home

In today’s culture, both parent’s work inorder to provide the needs and comforts of the family. Without proper understanding and prioritising which things are important, it may lead to a big a problem which later on can’t be handle anymore by the family. This especially affects the children mentally and emotionally.

Due to this understanding, Singapore is constantly providing services for its citizens by improving the Childcare Centres nationwide. With this, Parent’s can leave their children to safe and nurturing environment as they go to work.

But remember, this is not enough. Parents should still spend quality time with their family specially at home and during weekend. This will promote a strong bond within the family, which can then be reflected to their neighbours so on and so forth.

Mother is the best friend in the world...

That is the sad fact of today's Singapore families. Dual income is most of the time required in order to maintain the household expenses. So kids have to spend most of their time in day care and less with parents.

If government wants Singaporeans to have more kids, then they have to make sure that parents are able to spend more time with their kids. Otherwise, there may be more social problems in the future.

Yes, I agree. They should restudy the working environment here in Singapore.

thanks for sharing. I think many country have such regulation. But the point is how much support have the government provided to parents...

Indeed, maybe someone can give a data how does every country tackle this situation. And if possible give pros and cons.

The late Mr Lee had done lots. Public services wise, Singapore has done quite well. But there is no free lunch :-)

Indeed! Singapore still doing quite well and continues to be a pioneer in some fields. I dont know about the free lunch though. Lol

No free lunch means everyone has to work hard and contribute to the country :-)

ever since i saw how my neighbour's 2 boys were after being sent to day care, i swore that my children will never be sent there. thank god i am able to work from home now and take care of the kids!

The kids need the warmth and love of their parents when they are young so that they will grow to love their parents in return. Upvoted!
