Views of Downtown Dallas From Reunion Tower

in streetphotography •  7 years ago  (edited)

All of these photos are taken from Reunion Tower, 571 feet tall,
in Dallas, Texas- through the glass windows!
It has a landmark observation deck featuring light shows, 360-degree city views, 2 restaurants & a gift shop.

More info about ReunionTower can be found here!

I wasn't even going to share these photos, but they are rather interesting; just not fantastic photos!

In addition these were taken July 16 this year when the Dallas area was experiencing the dust storm from Africa!
Yes, you read that right we had dust from the Sahara Desert travel all the way to Texas....

So when you see the sunset photos, note that there is a layer of dust, not smog that the sun is about to sink into!

Yes trains still go right through part of downtown Dallas!

The Old Red Courthouse in Dallas
More info on it here.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and enjoy the view out the windows as it slowly rotated 360 degrees.
It takes about an hour for the restaurant to make the entire circle.
I was hoping for a really great sunset!

You got some really cool shots, Violet. The sun setting in the dust was a unique capture:)

Thank you!

Glad you and your husband took time to celebrate your anniversary. Nice photos. I especially like the court house, fun like a castle with turrets but also perfectly symmetrical.

I love all these pictures. These are very nice shots. It put me as a viewer right there. It was like a virtual mini vacation to downtown Dallas. Thank you @violetmed.

You are welcome!

Hello @violetmed, what an unusual occurrence to experience dust storms from Africa all the way into Dallas. You captured the city experience from the heights of your holiday hideaway perfectly. We are finally getting a bit of a reprieve from the every day rain. Now the plants are completely freaked out. 🐓🐓

Oh goodness!

Very interesting what a bit of altitude does for a photo!

howdy this fine night violetmed! wow that sounds like a wonderful place to visit and have dinner. The restaurant turns around, just the restaurant right? You're not saying the entire floor rotates? great views, I'd love to go there.

Yes, just the restaurant rotates. I'll warn you the dinner prices are expensive! My husband and I ate at another restaurant before we went to Reunion Tower. We just had a drink and dessert at the tower! There is an observation deck where you can go in the daytime and eat lunch if you care to. You have to pay to go to the observation deck. If you go to the bar and restaurant then you don't pay to go up the elevator!

wow that all sounds a little steep in price. well but for a special occasion or to take visitors from out of state that would be so much fun, thank you violetmed!

What cool views from up there

Magnificent work for capture those nice shots, but that tower way too high, from your last three shots one's can see that this tower really tall like, pictures look like you took them from the sky hehehe.... Thx for share.

Nice photos! I love that courthouse. Interesting style.

Great shots. My favourite is first and the 2nd last one.

How nice that you celebrated your anniversary, @violetmed! My parents also have that date as special. I liked the image of the building that looks like a castle! She's beautiful

What beautiful images, @violetmed. The city looks awesome. It only lets me see the difference between developed and undeveloped countries. Greetings, fair lady!

Those roads look like spiders, @violetmed. The city is impressive. I was surprised to see this kind of picture on your blog, but it's really beautiful, especially those last ones at sunset. I hope you had a good anniversary! You deserve it. You deserve it.

Interesting photographs @violetmed. What a fun way to celebrate your anniversary, 😊
