Hi world, friends and family.

The volcano of Stromboli at full force:

Climbing the volcano:

A once in a lifetime experience we had! After a 3 hour guided climb, leaving sea level at 5:30pm, we reached the crater of the volcano of Stromboli, well over 800m and just in time for the sunset. Pushing, pulling and motivating each other up the mountain we enjoyed the marvelous views over Sicily, the Strait of Messina, Calabria and the sunset.

A bit under the top on the North we looked deep into the crater of the volcano where hell broke loose. With the sound of starting jet engines the lava sprayed in the air. Our faces were glowing. Waaaahhhhhwwwww... A stunning view...
While we tried to devour our mozzarella sandwich in between the oooohhh's...

Our decent:

After one hour at the top it was time to start our descent the into the pitch dark of night with the fine volcanic sand in our shoes and between our teeth. Dead we were, but we escaped hell...

Well done Max and Adrien!
