Waiting for the VAN BRIENENOORDBRIDGE to close again this morning in the car.
The Van Brienenoord Bridge is a beautiful big bridge over the Nieuwe Maas on the east side of Rotterdam, in the Dutch province of South Holland. I take the bridge to cross over yo the other side of Rotterdam for work. The bridge consists of two adjacent arch bridges with three bascule bridges in line with it. The road across the bridge is the A16 national road, ( a really busy one, that every car using Rotterdammer uses ) and with six lanes per direction and more than a quarter of a million vehicles every day one of the widest and busiest motorways in the Netherlands.
A two-way cycle path runs outside the arc on the east side. The total length of the Van Brienenoord bridge is 1320 meters and the clearance height is approximately 24 meters. When it opens just like today it Will take about 14-22 minutes approximately to let the talk ships and freight ships through. A beautiful sight to see. This was a toe platform i believe but i could not leave the car.
I was in a hurry so than waiting is a B.... but i left home in time so i was at ease and decided to photograph for this blog now at the Office. To let you see another piece of my hometown.

It's a really cool bridge! Although... it's much better to see them when you aren't in a hurry! I've only gotten stuck behind a bridge twice in Netherlands... but of course, it is only when you are already running late!

You know, a dream of mine has always been to visit the Netherlands. Especially to see the windmills, tulips and those boat lanes that you guys have there.
And of course this bridge.
But I am sure that I will be sent back here very quickly as I will not stay in the car when that bridge is lifted hahaha.
