STEEMIT USERS DISAPPOINTMENT AND GREAT RESULT

in stteemit •  6 years ago

view.jpg

I have been aware that most users on the steeemit blockchain have felt discourage and disappointed with their experience on the platform and make most of them abandoned their activity and support for the platform.

INTRODUCTION

Linee.jpg
The steemit blockchain is a platform that reward author through their post based on the content quality and information based, most people most especially the minnows have find it very hard in building relationship and engagement with others on the platform that has led to many giving up.

Changes faced by many
challee.jpg

  • Financial rewards
  • Low upvote
Here are some listed challenges faced by many of the platform that has resulted to many because giving up on the platform.

Financial rewards-

many users try to their extent of giving a quality and more quality content but all the same found their content not rewarded to even a bit extent and this is because there is struggle in building engagement on the platform which is not encouraging at all and this make the user feel the impression that no one care about his or her content.

Low upvote-

these is a way of receiving financial reward also which is the form of upvotes, many have not been supported, and this has also being a challenge in the sense that many take their time, finance and strength creating quality content but to no avail they got no better upvote as a form of reward. Taking for example frustration even arises when you are expecting to be upvoted and unfortunately you saw close to 100 upvote with just and $0.04 value. Oh!! How frustrating would that have been?. It even discourage most people and they finally end up giving up when they get nothing in return many will even be striving hard to be among those to earn on their content after seeing their post value some you see $20.97, $100.20, and $500.90 which is like wow.. but at the end of their sweat on post, they see nothing less than $0.24, $0.90 which is most time annoying.
Linee.jpg

PROPOSED SOLUTION
Some solution I know that can be quite simple for most users who intend to create quality content without struggling to earn.

Contributing on the platform-
suppopoo.jpg

This is one 80% rated solution that can make authors earn upvotes and rewards which is the act of contributing to some various communities, because doing this you intend on supporting the existence of the community and most communities have the rate of reward to users who support their initative. With this a big upvote and rewards await the supporter this takes it down to the extent of building engagement.
Linee.jpg

BUILDING ENGAGEMENT.

With the proposed solution, it is strongly believe that contributing to communities with improve the task of building engagement. This will bring exposure to the author so far support is been offered by giving a quality content and will improve follower base where you will have a lot of friends and colleague and even organization who will find it interested to go through all your available content anytime its been drop.

THE USE OF MEMO

Many users on steemit do not realize to the extent of using memos to promote their content, memos could be useful because it is one way you can use to keep in touch with other users it is a way and means of keeping contact with many users around the world. It serves as a means of notification of content ,sending memos to users can promote content with the luck of other users getting interested in the content and directly resteeming it with thousand and millions of users around the steemit community.

CONCLUSION
Suggesting some solution that could help author on steemit, memo is very useful way of getting engagement, reward, and upvote because we never can tell your content may be very useful to some people in future and with the help of this curators you are bound for success and great reward and upvote on your content, unfortunately, your sweat has finally been rewarded and you are about gaining publicity with your contents and support of steemit platform.

Good to see Crypto.Piotr showing you the ropes!

My experience is that effort over time is more valuable than effort at anyone point. If you are a math guy, then you could think of effort on steem as a vector quantity instead of a scalar quantity.

There are several programs that I use to help incentivize and motivate my own perseverance, one of which is SBI. By getting involved in @steembasicincome, I gradually build a base of 'upvotes for life'. By participating in SBI contests, I meet new users, and by hosting contests, I reward others while building my own balance.

Picking a great group or project is good, but I personally am more likely to 'try everything once'. I set short term goals (like one video per day for 31 days, I did last year on Dlive) and now I am doing 77 days of #seven77 pushups. Just try different events, like @ifc or #openmic or whatever strikes your fancy!

My three step plan for new users is - contests, comments and curation. Consider @thedailysneak where you can earn SBI for finding great things that other people write!

There is literally TOO MUCH stuff on steem to do it all, so just pick something and never stop posting/commenting!

Thanks ecoinstant for mentioning the @ifc :)

Thanks boss..
I will surely go by your advice

Another amazing comment @ecoinstant :)

If you are a math guy, then you could think of effort on steem as a vector quantity instead of a scalar quantity

Love that explanation :) Are you math guy yourself? I presume the answer is YES .

Dear @adewararilwan

I just received your memo:

Hello boss this is my own opinion on the your related topic: MEMO.. Kindly find the link to my post: https://steemit.com/stteemit/@adewararilwan/steemit-users-disappointment-and-great-result i wouldn't mind if you could help resteem it. Thanks sir. Regards to your family.

Thank you for sharing that link with me.

All those are very valid points my dear friend.

unfortunately you saw close to 100 upvote with just and $0.04 value. Oh!! How frustrating would that have been?

I know that feeling buddy. First few months has been very frustrating.

memos could be useful because it is one way you can use to keep in touch with other users it is a way and means of keeping contact with many users around the world

We're on the same page here.

I would gladly help you get some exposure with this post if you want me to. When will you publish it, just send me a link via memo, ok?

I can bring some traffic already to this post, but I would need to ask you to help me little bit with task of promoting it:

1) will you reply to every comment?

2) could you visit accounts of those few people, who dropped interesting comment at your post? And then would show your own support by dropping some unique and valuable comment? Idea behind it is simple: I want to help people who will engage with their audience.

I need to ensure that you will give back to community and show your support to others as well.

Let me know what do you think.

Yours,
Piotr

Sure i will do that, though it will take some time to complete those task but i will really take time to do all review and make a relevant and valuable comment. This will really serves as a oath of support to many people on the steemit blockchain.

Hi @adewararilwan

Thx for prompt reply

I'm not asking you to spent hours engaging with people :) But at least try to build some connections with people who would drop a valuable comment :)

I noticed that you only have 60 SP. I can delegate 40SP to you for several weeks (assuming you will be active on Steemit at least every few days).

Cheers buddy
Piotr

Ok. I would do that but not yet sure maybe i could be active every blessed day. All i fear for is that because am still a student and the cost of getting my databundle loaded could be much.. But i promise to get engage with people by going through their content and giving valuable upvote and comment.
With that i am pretty sure i am helping other people on d platform. Thanks boss!!

Hi @adewararilwan

I delegated 40SP to you and I will only promote your post little bit. So dont you worry bud :)

Cheers
Piotr

I will be waiting to receive the delegation
Thanks man!!
Am grateful..

Just did @adewararilwan :)

Thanks boss..
I really appreciate
Regards!

It requires great will to continue what we are doing in hard times. For example a doctor who can do 4-5 operations a day cannot operate his relative. That is called as Fear Uncertainity Doubt (FUD). People use this word when bull market is in place. But real FUD lies in this market condition. It may be steemit or some other thing.

Secondly why do you worry about reward that you are getting from other users. For example a writer who writes hundred of books throughout his life will not even be printed in press, But his biography will count millions of dollars which was written after his life. Some things will take time to reflect. you should wait with patience.

Ok man. I love that a lot.
Everything will happen for good at the right time

The basis of quality is subjective.

One might read your post and say: "He makes grammatical errors, this is not quality, I will not vote it."

Another might say: "There are some errors, but I really like his message, and I find the meaning to be quality filled, I will vote this."

Why do I bring this up? Because the topic of "my quality content isn't being recognized" has been around as long as I've been on Steem, and the reception generally does not exist. You might get a few people "in agreement" who are also where you are, but the accounts that bring the big votes, they've seen the woes a thousand times, and it might be a little harsh to say they don't care, but I don't see too many of these posts getting votes from the big guys, and there is are a multitude of reasons for this.

I'll outline some of these reasons, and do my best to help here, because I've been where you are, and it took a great deal of learning and time to get where I am now currently, which isn't huge, (still a minnow) but I'm really happy with my current earnings, and I think this is what is most important. My reasons for blogging could be different than yours however. I create out of passion, desire to self express, as well as to help others in which ever ways I am able, so the rewards are secondary for me. Does that mean I don't like a good whale vote? Of course not! It's still great when you receive a nice vote and feel you've earned something for your time and energy. It might be different for someone who is trying to blog to eat, or pay their bills.

So what does it take to start getting decent votes, and "continually* actively engaging circle of supporters?

Engagement is certainly huge, and key here, but it takes time. If you have 1 hour a day to devote to Steem, you simply cannot expect to get the same results as someone who has 12+ hours a day to devote to Steem. I don't care how good of quality you are producing, if the engagement isn't there, consistency in votes will likely not be there either. So time is one.

Creativity. Not just with blogging/writing/art. People who come up with ways to make serious positive impact are going to do good here. If you develop a dapp for the chain, a successful one, yes you are likely going to do better and earn more. So ingenuity/creativity are pretty big, and many like to create their own little contests/giveaways. There isn't a shortage of creative people here who have their own communities because of ideas they've fostered themselves.

Discord! This is a big one in my opinion. I cannot tell you how much is happening in discord servers. If you have access to discord, it's not a bad idea to get involved with communities that you share common interests with.

Drive! If you see an opportunity for a position, there will be others competing for the position if there are rewards to be earned. Maintaining drive, and self advocating will bring you places on the blockchain. Some things you might get rejected for, but if you maintain the drive, you might find yourself with a job title on the chain, and not just a blogger. This is something, that would certainly advance your Steem career in a positive way.

If all you are interested in is blogging, and engaging with others. You can still find success here, but without accessing discord, and connecting with some established communities, it might be tough. It doesn't mean it's not possible.

The memo system is not bad in my opinion. I really enjoy receiving memos from my friend @crypto.piotr, the only flaws I see in a mass memo usage system, would be the fact that many see it as spam and another issue would be similar to the issue of posts drowning out in the feeds. My guess is, if users start receiving floods of memos, they will just be ignored. That's not to say this system couldn't work or be improved on in any ways. After all, the memo system brought me to your post!

I would love to provide more feedback, but I feel this message is becoming quite long. These are some of the things that I've learned while here, and I really hope you find this information helpful friend! Best wishes to you!

...in other words..you have to know how to trade yourself on steem market :)

Totally agreed. I have done giveaways in the past and am still doing them however when i started doing giveaways i got little to no engagement and i decided to know what people on steem like to be gifted after knowing i have adjusted my giveaways to the trend and have been getting a steady amount of engagement so i think the key to engagement is to go with the trend or you can make your own trend 👍

Posted using Partiko Android

Nice one man!
I will agree to that to some extent and that will need a lot of investment on the platform.

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

Yes it some amount of investments are required to keep a follower base strong for example you have 10000 sp and you upvote people who emgage with you if other minnows and planktons see this they will come to get a share of the upvotes and most of the time will leave valueable comments

Hi there @adewararilwan true the distribution of reward doesn't favor just quality content but one should not focus on this to succeed on Steem. Rather, focus on your goals; strategize and work towards achieving them.

Talking about engagement, I think it has to start in the opposite direction. How many posts do you leave valuable comments like this on daily basis? I trying to point that one does not sit back and wait for engagement on their post, you have to go after it unless the post has giveaway in it that will attract the engagement.

Anyways, have a nice day buddy!

Have a nice day too buddy!
I appreciate you for the comment
Thanks

Excellent friend idea @adewararilwan. but that also means that you must commit yourself, when you work with a community there must be a commitment that from that you are not alone, and you must be a full participant.
is the only way you can work well, if you do not follow guidelines you will not be doing anything.

I agree with you

Hi @adewararilwan thank you for the nice post!

One day, in the future I would say that Steem might be profitable for content creators to the point that one could make a living from it. At this time, I believe it is much more like an investment than an income.

A lot of content only earns a few cents like $0.05 or so. This seems pretty bad, but the reality is that you are being paid in STEEM and SBD and not actual USD. This means that your rewards have the potential for being profitable.

Currently your post rewards say $0.25, but at one time STEEM was priced at $8.40, while its only $0.46 right now. If it goes back to $8.40, which I think it will, your rewards for this post would 18x. That's a $4.50 reward!

Memos are a great tool for promotion, but we have to be respectful. There are many people on Steem that dislike it. I feel differently, because by sending me a memo, you are paying me to take a look at your offerings. I like this idea. However, I also support development that allows us to decide what the minimum amount is that can be sent to us.

For some people, 0.001 STEEM is valuable, for others its not worth their time receiving the information. So, I look forward to accounts having an option of limiting what transactions can come to them. For example, if someone sent me 0.1 STEEM or SBD to advertise to me, sure, why not?

My junk mail can end up with 1000 messages easily, so if people valued my attention enough to pay me 0.10 STEEM to send me a memo, I'd gladly receive it. 1000 memos could get you 100 STEEM for your attention. That's cool.

But once they implement the feature that allows us to pick the minimum amount sent to us, I'm definitely making it 0.10 STEEM. Because the memos can get to be too much. That's why, while I use memos as well to communicate messages to others and promote, I realize its important to do it sparingly and respectfully.

"One day, in the future I would say that Steem might be profitable for content creators"

Hope not just for content creators😉
Steem have a large potential as we can see nowdays that more and more dapps are built on it.
I hope or lets say i wish steem will br much much more in the future.
I enjoy to create content but also i like to invest as much as i can. With the SMT-s i am sure there will be a new start here on our block chain😊

Posted using Partiko Android

I expected a greater degree of discussion about SMT this month. Care to share any insight about either, what we can expect, and/or why has there not been much news?

I think this is same situation as a magic dice. They didnt communicate much they are working.
I hope with the SMT's we will see the same. I dont care the news i care the reault. 😊

Posted using Partiko Android

Magic Dice?

Yep. They will be also smt's And the devs of the dapp they also doesnt gave much information. But the new game will come.
So if the steem inc. makeing the same that they work on the project we just have to wait.
By the way maybe i am wrong but i think the price of steem will also jump as soon as the SMT's will be ready so it means we can still buy now. Sooner or later they will be launched😉

Posted using Partiko Android

Funny you mention game. I see virtual worlds becoming big very soon. Don't know how VR and blockchain are getting along, but gaming through Ethereum is very promising and Steem compares future changes to Ethereum.

Yeah Steem will jump with the success of SMTs

do you mean dlux.io example? Hopefully i have tokens there also😁

Dear @hobo.media

One day, in the future I would say that Steem might be profitable for content creators to the point that one could make a living from it. At this time, I believe it is much more like an investment than an income.

Absolutely. Right now traffic here is to small and all we do is build "infrastructure".

Great comment buddy.

Memos are a great tool for promotion, but we have to be respectful. There are many people on Steem that dislike it

Very wise words. We do need to be respectful in the first place.

But once they implement the feature that allows us to pick the minimum amount sent to us, I'm definitely making it 0.10 STEEM.

Ups. That would mean - end of "MEMO communication" between us bububu.

Cheers
Piotr

I think it is very tough to get decent upvotes on steemit, no matter how excellent one writes. Upvotes depends on herd mentality here. People upvotes whom they think as the influential person. Some powerful people have many accounts who votes them or they self upvote their post.
Sending memo is a good idea but I think a few people bother to click the link sent with those memos.
However, one should not get disappointed. If one writes post usind busy.org, esteem app or Partiko, one can get good upvote from them.

Dear @akdx

Love your mature and kind comment.

Sending memo is a good idea but I think a few people bother to click the link sent with those memos.

If you send memo to someone who doesnt know you then that will be result. 1000 memos to strangers 2-3 comments.

At the same time if you receive memo from someone you like / who is supportive etc. then change of opening is way higher. 10 memos to "friends" gives easily 2-3 comments.

So it is important to build strong follower base first and then start sending memos to them. Does it make sense?

ps.
You keep posting really quality content. Perhaps you could always send me memo with link to your publication and 2-3 sentences description ? I will gladly support you with upvote, will drop a comment.

Especially if your publication will be related to crypto, blockchain,AI, economy or psychology (just don't send me memos like every day hehe)

And if I will have some time then I will also share your publication with my larger audience and will help you get some extra traffic.

Please keep in mind, that you can count on my help (whenever I can support you, I will) :)

Cheers
Piotr

Memos can be useful because it is a way you can use to keep in touch with other users, it is a way and means of maintaining contact with many users.

Dear @adewararilwuan, That is a great idea and it is certainly effective, it is an initiative that my good friend @crypto.piotr is using. He is trying (with much effort) to integrate a community around AI and cryptography, a community that does not make any kind of discrimination, but is designed to help all the users in steemit who have growth problems.

The problem that we find many times with this of the memos is that the person who receives the support forgets the one who took the time to support him, I understand that the idea behind all this would be to create permanent relationships between the users of the platform as it has been proposed by the same @crypto.potr.

Could you visit the accounts of those few people who stopped making interesting comments in your publication? And then show your own support by leaving a unique and valuable comment? The idea behind this is simple: I want to help people who get involved with their audience.

I think that would be more effective and reciprocal.

Blessings to you
Fondly
Pr EV

Dear @fucho80

Amazing comment buddy

The problem that we find many times with this of the memos is that the person who receives the support forgets the one who took the time to support him,

That is my job to remind people and refresh their memories haha :)

Hi @adewararilwan. Steemit is not only for authors. Merchants, developers, traders, bot owners, etc. may also benefit as well.

As an author, It's hard to start here, because you need a decent SP to perform key actions like commenting, delegating to bidbots, trails, etc. unless you're willing to purchase some STEEM. By doing this, you speed up the process.

Thanks man!
I will try that process in order to speed up
Nice to meet you

Hi I have upvoted your post, thanks to @crypto.piotr for the memo, lol.

It seems that creative skill is not enough here on Steemit. Nor is regular posting or consistent effort. You still won't get many votes of value.

The 80/20 principle might apply here. 20% of your time spent on actual writing and posting the article and 80% of your time networking and socializing and commenting to promote the article and yourself.

Great job man@adewararilwan i also learnt the use of memos from @crypto.piotr and it is with this same method that i happen to come across your post but unfortunately some folks over here see this as some sort of spam messages which i disagree. Well opinions are like noses so we might as well keep ours and help build a strong community hahaha.

Nice meeting you buddy :)

Kelvin writes @Ikkelins

Thanks for the comment.
Nice meeting you too

One of the best reasons to stay on steem and continue creating content was our @steemromania community. And you are correct that getting involved in such communities is a great way to get engagement and some upvotes, there are also a number of minnow support projects like @qurator or curation projects like @currie. These are worth investigating.

But the road to high post returns is quite long and needs a lot of patience and relationship building. Also posting on platforms like @dtube, that have a lot of SP to do curation, can help.

Hello @adewararilwan ... Great post...!!

You right about everything...!!!

As you said many people

abandoned their activity

On Steemit, I´m sure at the beginning is a little difficult and maybe some or lots of people don´t know how to start posting good content ... But it is just practice, nothing is perfect at the beginning , this is just mindset ...

Contributing on the platform

That´s tremendously correct my friend, also this is called connection ..

BUILDING ENGAGEMENT.

That´s right, showing engagement to others make a strong relation...
building step by step is more powerful and everyone will have an amazing result in a short period of work...

THE USE OF MEMO.

I´m pretty sure that sending memos is really powerful, many people think that a memo is a spam but I´m sure it is not... Sending memos is a good way to be successful if you want to promote your post or new post from somebody else...

If you make a good tactic to promote your post, you can take strongly results. magnificent, don´t you think?

Buddy, good article and there is a lot of merit in what you say. Here are my thoughts:

The strategy of making things work here depends on the prevailing conditions. In a bull market (last year) it made sense to use the wallet to invite people but in a bear market, it wouldn't matter who visits your post unless those are whales and have good voting power. Otherwise, you can get 100 upvotes and still 0.4 value. So then what is the solution.

Here is my personal opinion on solution. Look for opportunities other than the normal. I did. And here is what I found. Games like magic dice, drugwars helped me earn Steem. Why? Because even in a bear market people like to play. More importantly whales were playing, so money was there. Don't belive what I say, just go and check my wallet and you will see for yourself.

Other than games, I discovered apps which pay. For example, Partiko. I earn tokens which can be converted into Steem. Also they give upvotes, that is also a good way of earning Steem. Best of all Partiko is expected to launch its exchange by end of this year. Think about all the points becoming tokens and that too free since you don't pay anything to get it. Here is the article I wrote about it. https://steemit.com/partiko/@oivas/free-exchange-tokens-usd-60-two-of-the-most-promising-ones

There are many more ways. So keep your eyes open for opportunities. You never know where they may come from. :)

Posted using Partiko Android

Dear @oivas

Amazing comment buddy

Because even in a bear market people like to play. More importantly whales were playing, so money was there.

Does it mean that someone need to lose so other would gain? :) Maybe you're just an awesome player? :)

Cheers
Piot

Hello Piotr,

The idea with playing is to know your limit and I am playing games which earn me Steem and the games native tokens. Some place only Steem. Although, I have to yet try out Steem Monsters. Check out the trending posts, someone is giving out Monster pack or the other. And I understand these can be traded for Steem. So all that we have to do is get smart and follow the trend if not setting the trend. I get many people would not want to risk their Steem for games, in that case try out apps.

Partiko is one such app where you earn Partiko tokens just to do what you are doing right now through your phone. Comment, upvote, post and even get paid to watch videos (only if you like). These tokens, again, can be traded back to Steem. Not bad in my opinion.

I am only suggesting these solutions in addition to whatever else you are doing on Steem. I am sure it makes sense.

By the way @crypto.piotr I see that you are not using Partiko. My link is provided in the article that I posted in my first comment. Try it out. :)

Posted using Partiko Android

Another amazing comment @oivas and for that explanation.

I am only suggesting these solutions in addition to whatever else you are doing on Steem. I am sure it makes sense.

It really does. If I would only have more time to try it all out :)

I see that you are not using Partiko.

Bingo. Since I'm a social media marketer and I work (or think about work) whenever I'm online ... I got rid of my mobile 3 years ago (now I finally bought old nokia to keep in touch with family).

This way once I close my laptop - I'm 100% offline. Not even my own wife can reach me hahaha :)

Appreciate your time buddy
Piotr

Okay, let me give a last try. On the upvotes front, Partiko give three free upvotes every single day on your article. Okay, this is my last try. I promise. Hehehe

Posted using Partiko Android

By the way, on the games front, don't over do it. Play only to the amount you know you have control over.

Posted using Partiko Android

Memos are an excellent form of communication in Steemit. However, there are many people who bother to receive them. So it is often important not to abuse the memos.

BTW, they don't bother me at all.

I'm happy to receive them.

I have also noticed that when I´m writing a lot on a certain topic, that is then often not voted up as often as you might want to believe! Otherwise, I'm quite satisfied with the steemit community

I also think that the upvoter(s) in general should be rewarded higher!

Nice suggestion friend!
Thanks for at least commenting on the post.
Regards

Tell me about it! I've been on Steemit for 334 days now, and my total SP is 24, plus 88 delegated to me, (about half of that courtesy of @crypto.piotr, who sent me to look at this post). The return on effort invested isn't just low, it's more like what I'd call jack-shit.

OK, now for the tough love. Apologies in advance, but one of the problems with Steemit is that we are all so focused on being nice to each other that we are reluctant to speak the hard truths. This happens because Steemit is a popularity contest. Fortunately I'm a bit of an asshole, (and an English teacher), so it's easier for me.

@adewararilwan for the love of god, please get someone who speaks English as their first language to proofread your articles. Large parts of the above are so garbled that's almost impossible to tell what you're trying to say. Indeed, I would be entirely at a loss if not for the fact that what you're saying has been said many times before. And that is my final point. Stating the painfully obvious or repeating what has already been said over and over and over isn't really creating quality content. Truly good content must contain some significant element of originality.

Again, apologies for being so blunt, but it's not doing you any favors to lie to you about such things. As I said above, I teach EFL; part of my job is to read and critique the compositions of my students.

I will be happy if you can teach me that English of yours (smile). Though English is not my first language it is just a borrowed language in my country, i cant be perfect like those of you that speaks the standard English. I appreciate your advice stating that i should give someone who speak English as their first language to proofread.
Thanks man!!.
.

As a yanqui expat living in Argentina, I understand what you mean, perhaps better than you might expect. I struggle with Castellano every day, and I know how it feels.

You don't need to be perfect, or even close to perfect. You just need to be good enough to communicate clearly what you are trying to say, and you're not quite there yet; your meaning is sometimes ambiguous.

One case in point - your title is about Steemit Memo, yet only one paragraph even mentions it, and worst of all, nowhere do you explain what IS Steemit memo. Given that it is the title of your article, you should have stated in the very first paragraph, "Steemit memo is blah blah blah words words words". Good writing never assumes that people know what you're talking about, it explains at the level of the least informed, (within reason).

Dear @redpossum

Good writing never assumes that people know what you're talking about, it explains at the level of the least informed

Thank you for your suggestion. Perhaps you're right. I guess this title wasn't very fortunate. Also I'm not claiming that I'm good writer. As a matter of fact I'm only learning to write and I'm not even native english speaker.

Obviously I appreciate your feedback. I will continue improving my writing skills but Im sure I will make many more mistakes in the future.

Yours
Piotr

Heh, the comment of mine that you quote above was addressed to @adewarailwan. I was not critiquing your writing, but I understand the confusion :)

Seriously, though, reportorial writing is a teachable skill. It can be learned.
Creative writing requires some inspiration, but if you're just reporting on something, that's a mechanical thing. It has principles and rules.

The old, old basic rule of journalism is that you must answer five questions in the first paragraph of your story, preferably in the first sentence. Those five questions are - who, what, where, when, why?

If the article above was handed in to me by a student, in response to a writing assignment, I would tell the student that there are two separate articles here, mish-mashed together. One is about Steemit Memo, (whatever that may be), and another about the challenges of getting established on the Steemit platform. I would then advise that hypothetical student to separate the two, and write two shorter, more concise articles.

We live in an age in which people have very short attention spans, and tl;dr is like an anthem for a generation. One of the skills of a good reporter is the ability to be terse, to cut out all the fat and pare the story down to its bare essentials.

Dear @redpossum

I was not critiquing your writing, but I understand the confusion :)

Indeed I was a bit confused but I assumed that you're sharing your feedback and I always appreciate any sort of feedback Im receiving. Even if it's confusing one haha :)

Creative writing requires some inspiration, but if you're just reporting on something, that's a mechanical thing.

My goal is always to encourage for discussions so it require a bit different approach (I think).

ps.
Somehow I've missed your comment and I only had a chance to read it now.

Thx for always being so responsive :)

Cheers
Piotr

I love to see how supportive you are and responsive as well @adewararilwan

Ok boss

Dear @redpossum

Amazing comment buddy

my total SP is 24, plus 88 delegated to me,

It's more already yeyeye :) I got you some extra delegation (100SP)

Fortunately I'm a bit of an asshole, (and an English teacher), so it's easier for me.

Love it haha :)

Cheers
Piot

Thanks to @crypto.piotr for flagging this post for me. You are right that getting any significant amount in upvotes is very difficult. On the other hand Steemit is a Very Promising platform. And once in a while people like @cliffpower- he is the guy who gave me vote and support in my early Steemit days OR like @carolkean- she is a fantastic writer and reviewer, also I am a big fan Or like @freewritehouse OR @crypto.piotr who are happy to help and guide; also correct newbies like me and you.

I have not found ANY other platform as welcoming AND profitable which I can compare to Steemit. So my suggestion would be- slug it it out till you are a minnow i.e. 500SP and then look at the view. To decide now is too early.

Keep Steemin!!

Thanks for the comment sir

The biggest issue is the need for instant gratification. Nothing comes right away. We have to work for it. And as someone rightly pointed out, you need to make an investment, even if it's small, into your account to help grow it.

One of the greatest thinkers of our generation is a man named 'Naval Ravikant'. One of my favourite quotes by him is "all the good things in life come from compound interest".

It is important to realize we need to invest both time and money into this. We cannot expect to see immediate rewards. But the growth will be steady and one day you won't realize just how much influence you have! Keep it up, keep posting, and spend more and more time to increase your content quality. The follows, upvotes, and financial incentive will follow.

Cheers and thanks to @crypto.piotr for directing me here so I can share my views

Thanks for the comment sir, i will try to follow your view.

I think you just have to be patient and engage with many users to make your presence in this place. A little bit of investment is also necessary. Then you can get something from steemit.

Yeah patient is the key like they said.
Thanks man

@Crypto.piotr first made me aware of the fantastic power of memo's so kudos to him, I think it's a good tool but you do also need to invest in your account as money talks.

Yeah i agree with that your opinion.
Money talks!!

KUDOS @safetony :)

My friend what should i say? I had the same feelings when i started.
Than i make a solution. The steem block chain is good because it is full of options and solutions.
If one door is closed than there is another door.
And you know what is the most important?
That the disapointment i convert to action. To be better and better. 😉
I wrote many posts about this.
Just never give up😉

Thanks for the advice man.

Hi @adewararilwan,
Thanks for this nice post. I think one of the keys to success on steem is to understand that everybody here wants to get upvotes and have their post read.
I spend more time on steemit reading other peoples posts and commenting them than writing posts myself. Like that i can create nice relationships and often these people also pay more attention to what I'm writing. When you know somebody a bit better, you gladly give them your upvotes.

Making friends and learning from each other is for me the added value on this platform.

Best regards,

Achim

I totally agree to that and i must confess i got a great message from your opinion.
Thanks man!!

There's one significant factor that can lead to greater exposure and a better response in the form of upvotes and rewards – producing quality content.

You touch on that in your post, but I think it's important to stress that point. Only after creating quality content will those rewards come in any great measure.

Yes i totally agree to that. Better and quality content will surely get a great upvote as reward but i am so worried about how many people can view the content when you dont really have much follower.
So i think sending memo to most of your active followers will be of a great help maybe they can help with some resteem of the post.

Yes, of course, you're right. The one aspect of Steemit that I don't really like is the way even quality posts can get lost in the constant stream of posts. Within minutes, any post will virtually disappear in the ever-flowing STrEEM.

So, I guess you're right, memos can be an effective way to get more exposure.

Peace @adewararilwan
