For students from elementary to college:
Ask your teacher if you can sit in the front.
If you take medication for learning issues, take it in the morning, before class.
Eat a healthy breakfast with proteins. Some suggestion: eggs, yogurt, nuts, sliced turkey, etc.
Take notes, preferable on paper not laptop! The process of writing not typing was proven to be more effective based on recent studies.
Listen to the teacher. Remove distractions: cellphone, lap top or friends.
Go to the local library. Ask the librarian about best books on the subject and see if free homework help is available. Do the homework there as well.
Look up web sites and videos on the subject. Repeat important concepts and vocabulary on the subject.
Ask a classmate to study together. Preferably, the good student on the subject. Do not form a BIG study group, it is not effective.
Talk to you teacher, tell him/her that you want to learn more and prioritize their recommendations.
Practice active reading—read with a pen or highlighter and mark up your notes or book (if it is not borrow / if it was given to you) with important dates and details that you must remember.
Think positively! Remember- no one was born with knowledge. It is aquired.
