I did manage to get them to get an account.
So, we got that going for us,...

Greetings Troublemakers

We hate to ask... but we are in a bit of a crunch, and we need your support.

subMedia is an independent anarchist media collective, and we get100% our funding from our viewers - a combination of monthly sustainers, one-time donations and sales of subMedia swag.
This allows us the freedom that we need in order to constantly push limits with our content, but it also means a constant hustle to stay above water.
Lately, we've been letting things slide, and we've dug ourselves into a bit of a hole.

Currently our crew is made up of two full-time, and one part-time filmmakers and a dedicated audio editor -- all of whom put in tons of 'off-the-books' overtime to help ensure that we meet our deadlines.
Beyond this, we pay a network of freelance video ninjas and a Montreal-based workers' cooperative that translates our content into French.
And to top it off, we incur regular costs in terms of rent, Internet and hosting costs... plus replacing gear as needed.
We manage to put out a pretty prolific level of high-quality content at a tiny fraction of the costs of other comparable video producers... but at the end of the day, we are only able to do so if we can cover our costs and avoid all having to get 'real jobs'.

Our current fundraising drive aims to bring in an additional $2K per month.
This roughly reflects our current monthly shortfall - a shortfall that we've been scrambling to fill every month.
We've had a number of monthly sustainers drop off over the past year.
And we certainly understand - time's are tough these days.
But we are hopeful that there are other people out there who watch our stuff and appreciate it enough to help bump us back up to where we need to be.
We certainly hope so... because we love what we do.
We just hate the fundraising part.
