Give a man a Steem, he has Steem for a day. Teach him to Steemit, he has Steem for a lifetime.

Here is what I have noticed about poor people. Some are self destructive, many are beggars. Most of them smoke cigarettes and drink soda and try to take advantage of other people while crying about not having anything. Lack of logic, knowledge and wisdom keep them at the bottom of the ladder. They do not want to get help.

He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want. - Proverbs 22:16

I used to be a poor man myself but through hard work and perseverance I am now out of poverty. Taking care of myself and even taking care of others when I feel it is appropriate. Some of these people will take you down in the blink of an eye just to get what they want. For example, I paid off a 200 dollar debt that a "friend" of mine owed to another friend. But that same man would not help me to retrieve a hacked account with 15,000 dollars of mine on it. The next time I see him I will have to inform him that I can no longer allow him in my life. I'm sorry that he has no money, he shouldn't have bought a new truck and shouldn't drink beer every day and smoke cigarettes. Many of my old "friends" have mysteriously reappeared since they have heard about my success. After months or years of not hearing a word from them suddenly they want to be best friends. Here is what he Bible says about that.

Wealth attracts many friends, but even the closest friend of the poor person deserts them. - Proverbs 19:4

So I tried to tell all of my "friends" about Steemit after I had made my first 1,000 dollars. How many listened? Many of my online friends. But only 1 in real life. 1 out of 100. Everyone who listened is doing very well now. The others are either too lazy or just don't care about their quality of life. They only want what they want and they want it for free. They have no problem coming to me asking for handouts when they are too lazy to even make a single post on Steemit. Jobless with no obligations and still they don't have a minute to even attempt to improve their lives. Only time to complain and smoke up their last pennies on cigarettes.

I am not against helping those who cannot help themselves. Just against enabling fools to continue on in their hazardous activities. Like cigarettes, pharmaceuticals, cable television, alcohol, prostitutes, diet soda with aspartame, aerosol sprays and other detrimental activities.

Now, to leave you on a positive note. It is NOT too late to join Steemit. It is never too late. If you produce GOOD CONTENT you will be rewarded accordingly for that. You are right @noganoo, they are poor but then some of them are not using what they have very well. Instead of buying something beneficial for their families, they use it to sustain their vices.

I'm glad that your "1 real life" friend listened. Thanks a lot for telling me about steemit and helping me get started. What a blessing!

Also, what a title! Great creativity and good work @noganoo!

" give a man steem he has steem for a day, teach him to steemit and he has steem for a life time" funny and creative title, upvoted on that basis alone . genius : )

Nice read, all makes sense.
Thanks.

Following you.

not everyone can write original content

Not true, and even if you want to think it is steemit gives 25% of the rewards to curators - those who find and upvote good content.

I've written a post about people who lack a strong internal locus of control.
"Members of the second group are called externals [locus of control]. They look on themselves as victims of circumstances, the playthings of fate. If they go to bed drunk, light up a cigarette, and burn their house down, they explain the disaster as another instance of their bad luck, and not their poor judgment, much less their bad habits"

What on earth is wrong with the price of those ciggaretes? lol Are they crazy?

@noganoo It all starts with Education, or the lack of it.

A read a quote in my year book that said, "give a man a match and he is warm for a minute, light the man on fire and he is warm for the rest of his life. "

I know its really random to say what I just did but I couldn't help with the title of your post.

What's the deal with you flagging all of my posts? are they that bad?

EDIT: ah i see, you see one comment of me where i state my opinion, a positive and a negative one (there is no non-factual information used, i just state what i hate and love about it) and then you respond emotionally full of hate and flag everything that has to do with that person.? correct?
pathetic.

Catchy subject, great story, and good life lessons. Awesome post! :)

Excellent post and so true. Thank you :)
