Do you have success habits that support your well-being? Most people don’t, but think they do. Many success habits that are sold today are about pushing you to be more, do more, and push harder to be as productive as you can. I do not believe this is a healthy way to have more success. The hustle and grind that is being sold to us right now may not be in your best interest.

The question that comes to my mind is what do the uber successful do as a daily habit that helped them achieve success? This is so important to understand because success and self-care go hand in hand. Taking care of you isn’t just about exercising four hours a day, slamming down some supplements with your morning breakfast shake, and declaring you are a success when your weight reaches your proper BMI (Body Mass Index). If that were true, Oprah would not be successful.

There is a difference between pursuing a goal and creating success. The truth is success can be short-lived and habits are long-term. So what do successful people actually do to maintain success as a habit and not a goal?

Pursue your own dreams: 80 percent of successful people are obsessed with pursing their goals. If you plan on creating quality of life by helping someone else achieve success, you will not be happy long-term or have success as a habit. You will be good at sacrificing for others. To achieve success, the dreams you pursue must be your own.

Sleep well: According to bestselling author Tom Corley, “An overwhelming 89 percent of self-made millionaires sleep seven or eight hours each night, or more. Sleep is critical to success,” he writes. Insufficient sleep has negative effects on memory function and creative thinking.

Develop income flows: Successful people do not rely on a single source of income. The average millionaire has 7 sources of income.

Exercise: 76 percent of successful people have 30 minutes or more of aerobic exercise. They jog, bike, or walk each day.

Build healthy relationships: Surround yourself with people on the same track as you. Join groups that share your same career or personal interests. Create long-term relationships but be choosy about who you spend your time with. Limit your time with toxic, negative people.

While you are pursuing your dreams, self-care is the biggest key to success. It is the smarter way to have success as a lifestyle and not simply a short-term goal.
