About Steve Jobs

Most people know Steve jobs as the leader of the greatest revolutions in the world of computing technology. However, he did more than just that. While it is true that he was a co-founder of Apple.inc, there is more to his legacy than this. He had a very extraordinary approach to life and success. His ways of doing things were always different and exceptional, which is perhaps the reason why he was able to attain so much success in what he did. Here are the 5 success principles of Steve Jobs.

Principle 1: Do what you love

One of the things that Jobs always advocated for was people finding that which they loved and doing it. There are people who engage in different income earning activities just because they need to pay the bills. While it may be necessary to get the bills paid, after a long time of doing something that is not your passion, it gets boring. When you start feeling like you get out of bed in the morning because you have to, then you are not doing what you love. Steve always advocated for people to have a passion for what they do as this is the key to creativeness, innovation and maximum efficiency at work.

Principle 2: Put a dent in the universe

A simple way to explain this principle is trying to answer this question: when I am gone, what will people remember me for? Steve continues to be the best example to his own principle even now that he is no longer there. When the brand apple is mentioned, people think of him. According to him, you have to find a way to transform the world around you, however small it may be.

Principle 3: Kick start your brain

There are people who are stuck with the same mindset they had about issues many years ago. This principle advises that you have to revolutionize your thinking. Again, jobs lived this principle through the idea of iTunes. Most people were of the mindset that music ought to be bought in CD’s and such. But he came up with a better way of marketing it. It was met with quite some resistance but everyone loves iTunes now.

Principle 4: Sell dreams not products

This was Jobs next success principle. Here, he stated that if you want people to give attention to your product, you have to package it as a dream. Illusions are what keep us going. The dream of happily ever after, for instance, will make a man purchase a diamond ring. Similarly, if you want to sell an idea, make it a desirable dream and you will be amazed at the success you will get.

Principle 5: Say no to 1000 things

Proposals will be made every day. Some will sound really good whether they are business oriented or otherwise. But, according to Steve jobs, if you want to succeed, you must be ready to say no to a lot of them. Critically analyze every one of the ideas, when you are patient you are patient, you will get the one that will propel you to the top.
