I am thinking about those children's tournaments where they give a prize, not for winning, but for participating, and the idea of how relative the concept of success can be came to my mind. Because, being successful does not always mean being first or better on a podium, nor is it just the most general to achieve your goals and objectives. Success can mean simply enduring.
To endure something, or keep trying no matter what, that is also a definition of success. Because the first place is always something that is measured in relation to others, that is, you can only be first if someone is second, and if someone is last, and so on. But constancy, on the other hand, is something that is only measured in relation to your own person.
Success can be about defeating yourself, breaking the pattern, breaking the habit, obtaining the necessary strength to continue doing what you do, being persevering, continuing to fight for a long time.
Success can be something that is earned privately. No need for public or applause.
Success can indeed be participation, because it can be more difficult to participate many times than to win only one.
I know that nobody will come to reward you for your effort and for working hard, and nobody will pat you on the back and tell you that you have done well. But it is not necessary. Nobody needs to give you a medal to be successful, nor does anyone need to recognize you. Only your recognition is needed, that you measure your own success, in relation to yourself and not to anyone else. That you see your efforts and know what is a victory and what is not, and how far the limit of your capabilities reaches. You are the only thing needed.
So, success can really be many things. But it is always up to ourselves to measure it.

What's up, I haven't posted in a while. I have written very fitfully over the last year or so, guess I've been busy with other things, but it is something I enjoy and it's good to organize my thinking. Your last couple of posts since you've been writing more have been really nice and inspiring, thanks for those. You seem to enjoy dabbling in ideas like I do.
This post nails a crucial issue I have thought a lot about. I believe many people are trapped or at least encounter this obstacle when basing ones success on an objective standard when it's ultimately subjective like any other value. Of course there are some external benchmarks that can give us a direction as to whether one is on the right path or not, though these things are just pieces that you can incorporate into a broader and more encompassing view of your own success.
As you say, participation is indeed enough as long to be considered successful as one genuinely participated. Consider the winner of a triathlon, while another places in 89th place, and another just runs, bikes, and swims on his own terms without ever any organized competing. All three could feel just as successful as the other, because no one person determine who is more successful based on the totality of each individuals circumstances.

Success is definitely not objective. I think that the mistake in which many people fall is in the comparison. You cannot compare the success of one person in relation to another, because no person in the world is equal to another, and the factors to be measured are many and very subjective.
Anyway... are you thinking of posting in the near future? Your posts always provide an interesting perspective.

All I know is that Justin Sun is a total BS'er. I'm done... started powering down the little I have left. I have given this space enough of a chance. I should have left way back when Ned destroyed one of my friends channels by downvoting him.
I have reposted the exact post I have here on a different channel and received a much better reaction. Keep in mind, I did not try and promote the post on either platform (I just let it run). I also have 600+ followers here and started with none at the other platform.
