Most people carry an idea or picture of success that is far from realistic. Here's an issue: nobody really has a clear definition of what "success" is! Let me show you what I mean.
If the definition of success is "having power" then whoever has the most power is the most successful... right? Imagine for a second if you sat on top of a giant golden throne all day and everybody in the entire world was subject 24/7 to your every whim, and served you as slaves. Doesn't sound very fun does it? but following the "success is power" line of thinking, this imaginary person is the most successful person in the world.
What if the definition of success is having the least amount of responsibility and most leisure time? Well then it could be argued that the pinnacle of success would be laying in bed all day with servants to feed you and a catheter so you never have to get out of bed for anything!
Hopefully neither of these scenarios appealed to you, and hopefully you can see my point! Success isn't something we have, it's something we experience. Success will look different for every individual and it should; everyone is different! I would like to encourage you, my dear reader, go and find your own definition of success! Love the people around you, read a good book, take steps to mend a broken relationship; your life is too short to spend it chasing someone else's dream!
