Robot sufia coming to dhaka

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said this at a press briefing at the conference room of the information department in the Secretariat on Tuesday (28th November).

The biggest event will be held in the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the city from 06 to 09 December.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology said, "We would like to inform very gladly, we have invited the world's first social robot 'Sofia' in the digital world. Hong Kong's robot maker Hanson is also coming. Robot Sophia and his creator will arrive in Bangladesh on December 05 next.

It was informed at the press conference that on the first day of the Digital World, on December 06, the two will be seen and talked about 'Sofia' at the Hall of Fame at Bangabandhu International Conference Center, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

The State Minister said about the recently-discussed character robot, "We will see how this robot interacts with the people, keeps the news of the whole world, and if any one asks a question, answer it."

Sophia will be seen directly by the inventors in the digital world, Palak said.

This is being organized at the initiative of ICT Department since 2011, to utilize the information and communication technology facilities, to develop information and communication technology, to demonstrate the capacity available and to contribute to the economic potential of the concerned sector. Working with the ICT Division as a co-organizer of the A2I project of Bangladesh Computer Council, BASIS and Prime Minister's Office.
