I've "been" in locations and in states of mind. I've been in places important, scorned and loved. This is about one of those places
Poems and Songs of Places I've Been - Sugarloaf Mountain
A drive on a road through the hills,
majestic, serine in-between.
But the hills themselves with their stories and tales
led up to her Majesty Queen.
My eyes rolled around as they peered,
for the beauty was neigh as the sky.
For the sight soon bestowed
which we're destined to hold
Was the Sugarloaf Mountain so high.
We are on our way there Sugarloaf
to see the sight you can lend,
a sight old to you, but to me will be new
on top of Sugarloaf Mountain.
As we rushed through the tree to your cliffs
we pushed up and around with no sound.
We climbed up to the top
and we sat on your rock
and lifted our eyes off the ground.
Since then Sugarloaf
I've longed to return
with a friend as I once did then.
You can offer much more
than words can implore
be there when we come back again.
