Petani di Aceh menyiapkan 1.000 ton beras dengan kualitas terbaik untuk pengungsi Suriah. Beras itu akan dikirimkan melalui Kapal Kemanusiaan Suriah (KKS) yang digagas oleh Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT).
Seribu ton beras itu dipanen dari lahan pertanian seluas 340 hektare dengan melibatkan sekitar 5.000 petani lokal. Mereka tersebar di sembilan kabupaten di Aceh, antara lain Bireun, Pidie, Pidie Jaya, Aceh Besar, Aceh Jaya, Aceh Timur, Meulaboh, Nagan Raya, dan Abdya.
Proses persiapan beras bertepatan dengan puncak panen raya di Aceh dan membantu para petani. Beras kualitas terbaik dibeli di atas harga perkiraan sendiri (HPS) yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah.
