5* Holiday on a 3* Budget
Over the last number of years I have traveled quiet a lot, these trips include family holiday’s, holidays with just himself, group holiday’s, city breaks, sun holiday’s and long haul luxury breaks. Over these years I have picked up a travel tip or two.Today I am sharing a holiday we went on as a family last June, this was for 14 nights, flying from our local airport, all inclusive, 5*, beach front location holiday to Lanzarote. This was our 2nd trip as a family to this Canary island, situated off the coast of West Africa, and with its year-round warm weather there is always a good time to visit. The 1st time we visited we also booked an all inclusive break but this was not 5*, still great and seriously budget friendly. I will share this with you in another post. For this break we booked the stunning Dream Gran Castillo Resort in the stunning Playa Blanca area. I booked the Hotel through Booking.com priced at €1,650, the flights direct with Ryanair priced at €540 including baggage, taxes etc, travel insurance with AIB was part of a multi trip package actual cost €30 and transfers with Travel republic at €56
Total Holiday cost: €2,276
This price included everything over the two weeks for three of us. All our drinks, snacks, meals, accommodation, travel, taxes, insurance and transfers. This breaks down to a mere €758 per person for a luxury 5* hotel, with a beach front location, travelling at the end of June, with direct flights from my local airport.I know a lot of people are not happy booking a holiday like this, they are used to and comfortable with a package deal but once booked through legit websites and making sure you take out the right travel insurance for your trip, you will be ok.Look at booking this holiday as a package on other popular sites 5*, 14 night, all inclusive, beach front Lanzarote holidays when booked as a package deal:You can book this holiday as a package through Low cost Holidays this September for €4,956.Or through Expedia.ie for 12 nights costing €5,400 without transfers, luggage or insurance included. So as you can see there are massive savings to be had by booking each piece individually, I have taken a look at many package sites and what we paid would get you a 3* hotel in a good location in Lanzarote but you would be hard pushed to find a 5* with all the added extra’s for the price we paid. The Dream Gran Castillo Resort is a fabulous hotel with tonnes to keep you busy over two weeks, with delicious dining options and lots of cocktails to enjoy. You will find exceptionally comfortable rooms, 11 saltwater swimming pools, kids clubs, a fully equipped gym, daily activities, night time entertainment, 4 themed restaurants, a buffet restaurant plus a snack bar, a sports bar and more all at the stunning 5* Dream Gran Castillo Resort. This resort is perfect for families but not so great for a couples holiday or those with poor mobility as there is a lot of steps, steep ramps and the whole resort is on many levels across the hill side.If you have any questions about this area, the hotel or any other questions about booking a holiday like this then please get in touch, email – [email protected] / snapchat – bloggerclarewth / Facebook – Clare with the Hair.
